The best classes in 0.3.0 are Deadeye, Witch and Sorceress .... again .... seriously?

I'm not playing any of those classes and I'm cruising.

We really need to just ban stuff like this.

There are hundreds of classes and combinations you can make work.yes some require more effort than the streamer adopted "meta" but 90% of the darn game is character building.

GGG make a reddit/streamer mode for gods sake. Give every monster 1 HP, every player gets 1,000 skill points at level 1 , no class requirements, and just let the rest of us enjoy the normal game while they sit there and click buttons to clear screens
Warrior feels great until armour gives out in the "interludes". At that point you need to switch to the marketplace and buy some high armour gear.

This is the first time I hit 10000 armour in the campaign. And that was just to not get one-shot in Prince Asmadi fight -- now i get two shot :) which is good enough since it tolerates one mistake.

I think the player experience varies dramatically based upon the RNG of the gear drops. Every class will feel OP for stretches of the campaign if you got a nice weapon for example. Ten levels later, you can feel mediocre when the gear is stale. It's the nature of genre. If it gets tuned down too far, then the campaign becomes a trivial slog fest with zero challenge.

I see too many people saying "it was hard for me so it sucks"... and a similar number saying "it was easy for me so you're wrong". You're all wrong lol. The truth is in the middle.

How do you get 10k in the campaign? Do you just suck in every armour node in sight? Because i invested heavily and ended up with just south of 5k (just to end up being 2-shot by white mobs with phys damage aura)

It's a sad story really -- I took almost every fokn armour node. With self-found gear, I was at 5400 armour. Which was my all-time high in campaign at that point. It felt amazing until I got to Prince Asmadi at which point that armour was trash.

I then went to the marketplace and bought a 1600 armour chest piece for 3 alch orbs. That took my armour to 10500. I'm guessing that node near starting location which says "+80% armour from chest piece" is multiplicative with all the other +armour% nodes.

I say it's sad because I had to go "all in" on armour nodes (including over 100% of armour applying to elemental) -- and after all that it was still trash when it mattered most (boss fight). This is why ES is the most superior because at the end of the day, a big hit is a big hit and you need a fok-ton of health/ES to eat it.

Evasion is similar, if that big hit actually connects -- you're fok'd. I'd say ES is still king followed by Deflection (because that's 40% damage reduction no matter the type or size of the hit). Armour will struggle to get 40% damage reduction with big hits.

NOTE: with that 10500 armour, a 2k physical hit is only reduced by 33%

So a ridiculous amount of armour in campaign only reduced Prince Asmadi phys hits by 33% -- that is sad. I also used "encased in jade" which took the total damage reduction to 40% and that changed the one-shots to two-shots.

its not a ridicolous amount of armour, i would say this is pretty average amount you should have at that point of the campaign.
I had around 9-10k too near the end of the campaign and im ssf so i cant buy any gear
smith and warbringer maybe need slightly less since they get fixed DR in their ascendancy

Idk I've been having a pretty easy go of it with Monk so far. Act 1 was slow just getting it going, but once I switched over to Hollow Palm the damage started scaling a lot faster than it was when I was struggling to find decent staves. We'll see how it plays out later I guess though

Bro... Act1?

How is that even close to good enough to a proper standard for judging the efficacy of a build?

Hint: it's not.

Well here's to burst your bubble.. I'm playing a witch/minion hybrid build and just hit the Act 4 interlude mountain blood mages... if they hit a minion they heal up to 100% hp... they don't heal a PORTION; no... they heal to full hp... so as long as you have minions on the field the boss is, effectively, immortal
There are NOT hundreds of builds in the game. The builds are what GGG has picked for you. Lightning arrow with lightning rod. Killing palm with fgalling thunder.

Want to play Minion Chaos Monk? Forget it. Want to play casting warrior? Forget it! The tree, the skills, the weapon restrictions stop anything not preplanned by GGG.

God its a persistient meme.

"Game is good guys, dunno what the whiners are talking about, its so easy. Act 1 btw"
One cannot help but wonder how such a lust for loot can affect a persons mind. Although these exiles appear to be our salvation, it would not take much for them to turn on us as easily as they fight gods and demons.

It is a ridiculous amount of armour in the campaign. I'm sorry you don't agree, but I'm confident you're an outlier. It's definitely not "average".

To get that amount, I had to buy a 1600 armour chest off the marketplace. I've *never* seen a 1600 armour chest drop during the campaign in my lifetime of poe2 (and I have over 1000 hours of game time, most of it campaign because I like experimenting will all kinds of builds).

That's also with taking 15-20 armour nodes on the passive tree (which is a high number of nodes to dedicate to armour at level 60). All my gear is armour with at least one armour affix. Can it be higher? absolutely -- but you'd have to buy all of that off the marketplace.

You've already seen one other poster asking how da-fok I got to 10k in campaign. So at a minimum it's 2 players at 5000 (who were trying to get high armour)... and 1 player (you) at 10k with SSF gear only.
