BOTS ARE BUYING ITEMS - Do something pls!

bots most likely exist for that, but usually it's just other players who are faster than you

just scroll down a little bit and pay 1-3/c each more, totally worth it
Time is "money" too and the battle for common items just to save a few chaos is a net negative, could spend that time in maps and find mirrors and magebloods (50:50 chance)

Bro, look what are you saying... The solution is not scrolling and buy 1-3c more, have u EVER did something next to a mirror craft when u have to buy thousands of a single currency?

2c more for 500 map runs = 1000C

Let I be clear...

MacGyver = SCROLL DOWN/BUY EXPENSIVE AT FAUSTUS AND/OR SELL CHEAP

SOLUTION = MECHANICS TO NEED MORE EFFORT ON A SINGLE CHARACTER TO ENTER PROPERLY ON MARKET + AN DECENT ANTI-CHEAT SOLUTION.

it is simple math you save x amount of time in that tiem you make x amount of profit compared to you spend additional time trying to trade for good prices ;)

plus you pay for less worries, convinience, or whatever you wanne call it, people pay extra to not stand in line all the time, everywhere ;)

These aren't bots.

You're trying to buy a high demand item. The lag comes from having to preload the MTX of those other players competing for the same trade.

Buy the maps for 2-3c more expensive than the cheapest listing and you won't see another soul. This is because bad players in this game are obsessed with getting the cheapest item even if a price reduction of 1c takes them 10 minutes.

Actually it is bots.
Normal players search or use live-search, but the live-search has a request limit and don't poll so often. Bots generally poll beyond that limit, some bots probably use multiple VPNs to bypass being banned.

You just said that you understood, but then explained that you didn't.

Bots aren't "spending that money to appear like real players".

They ARE real players, spending that money, and THEN they also run the bots on the side.

Sad day to humanity having to explain that type of things

On the other side of what u said there are bots that only Farm for rmt and they ARE 24/7 with many accounts in VM.

Like It or not. Ppl with mtx would have a "Trust factor" that makes It less bannable. But of course not immune, Just less suspect. As our friend thinks... "$500 mtx using bots... hell no!" yeah that's the why they can and Will buy mtx.

This also means that it's very unlikely GGG wants to do anything about it. The truth about most, if not all, old games is that they are only kept afloat BECAUSE of bots.

Everyone has crippling ADHD. Nobody sticks with a game, let alone an old one. Yes, WE might be examples of the contrary. But WE don't pay GGG's salaries. (Insert "there are dozens of us" meme.)

Just like in WoW, or Diablo, or any other game... if it weren't for the bots, there would be nothing to buy on the in-game markets, because nothing would be farmed like it is now. And that turns the game into SSF. And that shuts off most of the already-small playerbase. If you think GGG employees can live off of $15 a month from the collective MTX's of the remaining human players, you'd be mistaken. And if you think GGG will get day jobs and continue working on PoE as a passion project, you'd once again be mistaken.

Bots are annoying. But such is the tax we pay in 2026 for our old dead games to stay on cybernetic life support.

For currency there's currency exchange so idk why that's relevant here, anyway i can give you an example.
For maps i had this situation with mirage maps, they were 40c each but i couldn't buy any of them cause someone else was faster (bot or not doesn't matter), that was also the case for 41 and 42c, so i scroll down and buy for 45c.

Nobody to compete with and some even had big bulk available, i had my 144maps within minutes instead of wasting a lot of time and nerves to save like 720c. For me the average map takes like 6-8minutes and i get little more than 1000c per map(not raw chaos ofc), on average.

So what's better now, fight with other players and/or bots to save 720c but spend probably hours doing so, or pay a premium and get back into mapping quick? For me the answer is obvious

There is thousand of players, and maps are popular thing to buy/sell.

And most people only buy things here, without bringing any value to market by listing new things.

Most players not craft items, as they lack of knowledge and most players not play that long to find it all at their own.
Full time standard player.
Also full timer PoE supporter, from where I have started to play it.

Oh yes there are bots! LOTS of them.

Anybody can easily see them:
1. List a few popular map items 1-2c lower than the market price.
2. Keep the merchant tab open and watch the show.

As soon as they become available for purchase, you will see a bunch of low level characters enter your hideout at the same exact time and buy all those maps instantly. No human can click that fast.

3. List a few more maps and watch these same exact low level characters insta-buy them.

Nothing stops GGG from catching and banning these automated trade bots. They can easily see this activity in their logs. They can even set the trap themselves and catch the bots red-handed. If they ever wanted to stop them.

GGG IS actively banning the bots. Every game does that. But new bots will always appear faster than anyone can ban them. That's how it works in every single game.

Name a single significant game of this genre that has no bots and RMT. Go on, I'll wait.

Not trying to be a fanboy here but unlike other companies GGG is actively chasing people who break the ToS, as has been repeatedly proven. Saying they don't do anything is, frankly, very unfair.

YEAH, idk why the fuck are ppl talking about mcgyver bots bro... Its simple, GGG NEEDS to at least try to fix this problem better.

And the playerbase should NEVER try to defend GGG and/or bots and/or suggest mcgyver solutions about this, this NEEDS to end and thats it.
