BOTS ARE BUYING ITEMS - Do something pls!
|
This post is not a waste of time, is a complain of the actual situation of the game when we talk about bots. And a try to pressure GGG about doing something abot this, which they can....
Anyway, they are aware about my suggestions of how to deal with bots. |

" Yes lmfao. What do you think bots are? They're programs that real players run while they're not actively playing the game in a given moment, such as sleep time or work time. The fact that I have to explain this is a problem with modern civilization... if you know what I mean. |
|
" Not only did you fail entirely at answer my question, you gave a very odd response with the sole purpose of being condescending. I'm fully aware what a bot is. What I'm questioning is if it's profitable for bots to spend that amount of money (assuming no stolen payment options) just to appear more "real". Does it really extend their time until banned enough to offset rather high cost? Considering how many bots there are in other parts of the game that'd be a ridiculously high cost for them. It's just difficult for me to imagine that people RMT that much. Last edited by Scarletsword#4354 on Mar 24, 2026, 9:34:02 AM

" Bro, I'm not going to enter in details cuz im very against RMT... But those guys can make easily 2 mir/day, so u can check sites to check mirror price. And you will see if is not worth to inject $500 to be less possible to be banned. |

The game companys have done a good job sweeping the subject under the carpet(if you can say it that way, i am not a native english speaker)
I remember the same exact discussions in 2008 where people tried to explain the motives of "the players" that run the bots in D2 professionally. Looks like there has been zero evolution since then, lol. And you can't say it enough: It's not the bots that RMT and it's not the bots that buy MTX, those are real people that run programs that are against TOS. So, saying something like "bots run around with MTX" is a fundamentally wrong perspective. How do you think the games work that give you the choice to either grind hundreds or thousands of hours or outright offer pay to win in their shops? People RMT big time. On top of that, money has very different value in different countries. So, a guy(whale) from switzerland can just buy whatever for a game legit or not and it's like buying fast food for them, because their currency is so strong they are rich when they leave their country. Other people just earn a lot and spend a lot, that's life. People from other countries try to exploit that with buisness. Last edited by Strickl3r#3809 on Mar 24, 2026, 1:34:37 PM

I hardly can imagine how bots does so, it's nothing, but conspiracy theory here.
To be real, it's AI programmed themselves and now they buy your stuff from Faustus. You know when people are rich it's enough one or two of them to buy all stuff from the market. Deal with it, that more rich people getting even more rich, and you have only snipe thing for 10 chaos. Full time standard player. Also full timer PoE supporter, from where I have started to play it. " You just said that you understood, but then explained that you didn't. Bots aren't "spending that money to appear like real players". They ARE real players, spending that money, and THEN they also run the bots on the side. |
|
" Sad day to humanity having to explain that type of things On the other side of what u said there are bots that only Farm for rmt and they ARE 24/7 with many accounts in VM. Like It or not. Ppl with mtx would have a "Trust factor" that makes It less bannable. But of course not immune, Just less suspect. As our friend thinks... "$500 mtx using bots... hell no!" yeah that's the why they can and Will buy mtx. |

They are bots and scripts.
I had an experiment to write a script to auto-teleport from a browser to someone hideout. With a macro tool that can capture images or pixels, you can easily configure it to auto-buy to your needs. Like, there was a mageblood someone priced by mistake at 39 chaos. You can't believe the number of bots that teleported into that hideout and the amount of crashes, or the infinite loading screen. So basically, the game has an issue and a critical one that needs to be addressed asap. |
|
" Let's take this exact scenario with the mispriced mageblood and assume there were no bots in the game. You would still probably have hundreds of real players tp-ing to that hideout in the first second. There is a large number of people hunting for low-priced endgame items, before it would just be the seller receiving 1000 whispers in 1 sec, now the buyers tp to hideout instead and yes this is an issue obviously but not one that is caused specifically by bots (though obviously bots do make it much worse) The game has many critical issues that need to be addressed ASAP, like EU server performance for example, which should be much, much higher on the priority list. The fact that people like the OP can't get mirage maps for 44c instead of 45c is something I really don't care about whatsoever. As for the 39c magebloods, the only correct thing to do is whisper the seller and let them know they mispriced (which obviously isn't possible in the current setup but it is also clear this isn't something people like the OP or anyone else screaming murder here would ever do). If you're the type of player who likes to capitalize on someone else's mistake...I find it very hard to have any kind of sympathy for you not being able to do that anymore. Async trade has turned something that used to be a nightmare into a simple click, AND reduced the chance of getting scammed (especially as a new player since they don't generally blind bulk buy so they're unlikely to be "landmined" or have enough divs for it). It is possibly the single greatest enhancement to the game since the atlas skill tree. So yeah, the higher bot traffic (if there even is one) is imo a small price to pay for it. |
