Suggestion for restoring lost mirror items

You don’t need to be involved into anything as some common sense should already paint you a clear picture. How else could so many of the original item crafters be banned? If it wasn’t for breaking the ToS? It was about time for GGG to branch past those mule accounts.

A banknote isn’t illegitimate just because it was once used in a crime.
VoidWhisperer42 is speaking to the origin of items; not how they were previously used.

If that is the case, I misunderstood but I want to make the point, again, my post is about reintroducing the possibilities to have MIRRORED copies of the original items, NOT the original items, that are and for what concern me can stay lost forever end ever.
COPIES not ORIGINAL. There is no advantage for the original owers as far as I can see. Only for players that did't have the chance to mirror them before.

standard league is healthier without these items in circulation. these items are an end of an item hunt journey in a game whos gameplay loop is based on an item hunt journey. its great for standard players that they are gone.

the people who created their items legitimately, of which there are no doubt many, its a shame for those people. but they chose to give their items to someone, they knew if he got hacked or banned for any reason they would not get their items back and they chose to take that risk.

were talking less than 0.01% of standards population. shame for them, good for everyone else. there is still a best in slot item those people can mirror if they want it and theres an opportunity to make new items now which stimulates the economy and sinks currency.

keeping legacy items is bad for the server, good for the individual. the point of standard is we all get to keep our legacy items, which is good for all of us. the bad side of that is so does everyone else and that means the economy can get saturated and stagnant. standards economy has done well for how old it is and legacy items can play a cool role in that economy, but that concentration of so many high end legacy rares that could be endlessly duped was a choking cancer at the top of the pyramid and the server will be in a better place with it gone.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

Even if it’s just a copy of “lost” items, they are still items that were crafted in an illegitimate way and therefore have no rightful place to exist, even within a handout as a copy. People who have already received a copy are lucky, but to be completely honest, it’s a shame that GGG doesn’t go out of their way to just nuke the items acquired through this method from orbit, along with every single entry of the copied item, just for good measure, of course.

It’s a hit or miss. You either managed to get your hands on those items while you could, or you didn’t. If the answer is no, they are gone now for good reasons.

So yeah, no. I can 100% guarantee you that GGG won’t add vault keys or such for crafted legacy items that went missing during an account ban. Legitimate craft or illegitimate craft, it doesn’t matter. Such a thing simply will not exist.

Also, on a side note, the core game is balanced around fresh leagues, so it’s pretty obvious that they won’t add keys and give players access to legacy mirror-tier items. They want players to craft new things in their fresh league, along with the ruleset of whatever got changed for balance reasons. Broken legacy items have no place in the core game as a drop, and they surely also won’t go out of their way to add a standard-exclusive feature to give players access to removed or non existing legacy items.

Standard is just the core game without new league content, and not that GGG cares about standard anyway, which is actually a good thing. The game would be dead if it wasn’t for revolving around fresh leagues, new content and balance changes.

For people who say that legacy cool items are not needed I may this. There is also no need to keep playing leagues after a person played it once and beat all Ubers. What is the point to do it again and again and keep doing stuff you have done many times before?

So If you say its fun to try new content and new builds I will say it was fun to collect legacy items and create various super powerful builds.

So there is no need to play new leagues and there is no need to keep legacy items in standard. But if we want to have fun(and the game should provide fun) there has to be a way to keep all the legacy items in the game and keep making new leagues every 4 months.

On the standard only feature I agree with you, its unlikely.

On all you other point, I respect your opinion, but I totally disagree with it. You arguments around legitimacy are week. You are advocating for nuking items legitemally acquired by people, that is at least unfair. You are pretending to know what GGG will or will not do, you don't know and you cant guarantee anything.
