Trying to enjoy trade league for the first time after only playing SSF since release.

So can someone please explain to me how a mirror costs 8,000 Divine Orbs. I mean WTF. Is this the norm for trade league. If so i need to go find another game.

this league was broken but a mirror is the rarest thing you can get, i dont recall past league ratio to be honest but would you feel better if it was 4k?
You should start trade league on day 1 (not with 1 month left) to keep up with the economy, otherwise ssf is your best bet imho.

It makes sense to me that at the end of a league prices would go down and not up since you can't take anything with you into the new season.
Just curious, but why have you started trade league, when you are used to play SSF? I ask, because I'm a pure SSF player as well (HC in may case). I'Ve tried trade but the whole game experience is completely different from SSF...and I don't like it at all.

In trade you only see the price of the items you find...but not their value. Everything is reduced to: "how much Div?" I don't like it, even when that means, that I will always be waaaaay weaker, than trade players. I know, everyone says: the game is balanced around trade, but that's not true imo...It is completely trivialized by trade. Strange, that the same people always say, that the game is too easy.
For me SSF became a miserable experience making me want to quit the game. I could never craft anything or explore the builds i wanted to to there full potential because currency drop rates are so horrendous. I would like to play SSF but GGG needs to make it a better experience IMO.

The big issue is the really bad crafting / gambling system that is currently in the game. In trade league i can pretty much ignore crafting and grind currency. If the crafting system were more deterministic vs what it is now, i would probably go back to SSF.
Fair point, I do understand that. But then you have to live with the downside of it as well...You are in an endless hamster wheel, while trying to be on par with the inflation. No issue, if you have plenty of time ofc, but it becomes one for the most players as you can see in endless threads about inflation and that GGG has to do something about it.

And I guess, lots of people regard themselves forced into RMT (and what I've learned about the latest drama around TfT is, that it is an issue)

I avoid all of this with a smile, but have to live with the downside, you've mentioned. But man, I was so happy, when I was able to craft a 515 ES helmet with chaos res + another resistence for my pathfinder...Tradies would say here: "pfft, that's worth only xy divs...

I hope, you will find, what you really like :) As I've said, I was just curious, I'm not judging

Yup

Don’t worry about mirror prices

Problem solved
Mash the clean
RMT will never be an issue for me its why i was shocked by the price of a mirror. It would take me weeks to grind that many divine orbs. Someone is selling a bow i want for a mirror. I currently have about 1800 Divines i farmed doing logbooks and ritual. I can grind about 1 to 1.2k divines a week. It would take me 2 months to get a mirror. I won't engage in the crafting system because it is soooo bad. I wasted about 1200 divines a while back trying to craft a bow using a guide i found. The unreliable out comes of the current crafting system makes the game completely not enjoyable for me.

Dude, we are 4 months deep in a most overtuned league ever. Next time i suggest You start a season on trade and You will get a grasp of economic dynamics. This season divs were literally printed hence its value dropped like hell. On the other hand, mirrors drop didn`t arise so much = basic math.

So basically it can go both ways. When i finished a season non corrupted headhunters were like 1-2 div where typically they are aroound 40.

Y, that's exactly the hamster wheel I've meant and that was the reason, why I've quit PoE1 years ago (8 or 9?, don't know). I was farming for a Headhunter then and every day the price went higher and higher (almost exactly by the amount, that I could farm within a day). I have never returned since then (even after they have introduced SSF leagues).

I even didn't want to start PoE2, but well...here I am now :D
