Apologies in being short although the last post ... where do we go with it?

1) In response to facts / stats you respond with feelings.
2) You mention MTX (money spent) is important and how to retain THOSE players while having no badges (and threatening to leave).
3) You talk about how POE2 is becoming POE1 having never played POE1.
4) The conversation in this thread is because these players are sick of people whining about how hard the game is and GGG making the game easier (directly contradicting your statement that people are leaving because the game is too easy)
5) You say HC and SSF are punishment (but want a harder game because its too EASY LOL)

Like I mentioned below: Maybe a merciless league with 0.1 difficulty and death doesn't warp you to a different league is a good "middle ground"

Not even touching that bullet statement at the end... and :cheers:

Real enough I guess. I still write for myself rather than letting the AI do it anyway.

1) Your stated facts (player peak and retention numbers) didn't firmly support any conclusion. I was trying to express that they could mean a lot of different things. My conjecture on their possible meaning was no more feelings based than yours.
2) I'll support the game long term if I like it. Why would I have tons of badges and money spent already when I just started this season?
3) Rather unfair to leave out that I admitted this, and asked to be corrected if my opinions of the game based on what I've read and been told were incorrect. Feel free to do so.
4) I can only reply with 'Huh'?
5) I guess this may be my failure to get my point across. I'd like to see difficulty of the kinetic gameplay increased, what you have to do to win the fights, how hard it is to beat certain mobs and bosses etc., at the granular level of gameplay, and not have 'difficulty' added via spongier mobs, dps checks, and just more pixels that do nothing other than rush straight toward you. I don't advocate for big punishments for failure to do so (HC), or the artificial difficulty of SSF where you're basically not changing the game in any other way than effectively lowering the drop rate of good items.

If you read across different platform including this forum and reddit, watch youtube, twitch,...

0.2 was a massive fail and a lot of players left after some days because the game was too hard. Reason they made it easier i believe toward end of june or something, notabily in drop rates.

0.3 was a big success because it gave a lot of new stuffs and fresh air and the game was easier with all the new crafting and abyss was fun.

0.4 seen less people returning because the end game rework annouced around 0.3.1 didnt made it to the new patch.
A lot of the one playing left because the economy was ruined.

(this does not reflect my own opinion, i find the game amazing and promising even tough it need to find him balance)

GGG pretty much sitting on two chair.

On a side note, i tryed myself poe1 up to maps, lvl 80, i want to go back to it when i have more time because i enjoyed my time. The game is not what you can read on this part of the forum. My main problem so far have been the amount of button i need to press to make my 1 skill work, it's a bit too much for me.
With the reputation that game got the last decade i'm not sure how people can just describe it as "plain trash".

I dont really have an opinion on the topic itself because i started playing in 0.2 and have no idea how it was in 0.1.

Although, and I may have missed it, I do not see anyone posting playing HC SSF in POE2. My assumption would be it's "too hard" especially with "one shotting" bosses (with "too hard perhaps being restated as "too unfair").


I do and i find this game not really hard. The few times i got 1 shot by bosses was me making mystakes and deserved death.

Campaign is a joke compared to 0.1, really you can do it naked.
It has to be fun and comfortable as much as possible because we are going to redo it every league (and multiple times on the same league) so an absurd level of struggle wouldnt even make sense.

It would make more sense in endgame where, as of now, we kill arbiter of ash without equipment, Xesht without ascendancy and king in the mist without passive tree. Thats the real joke.

As for difficulty, i wouldnt like an Elder Ring campaign and a Firewatch endgame to be honest but pretty much reversed.

I'm also hoping they will focus seriously on end game rather than campaign changes, seeing the amount of time we spend in end game and how badly it need improvement.
I was surprised they didnt at least change pinnacle boss formula like they did with map boss in 0.3.1 but maybe it's because it's part of a bigger plan for 0.5.
I try to not have too much hopes because i got pretty disapointed the end game changes were not there in 0.4.

They're late on development no doubt, if you remember they promised druid for 0.3 (that enigmatic trailer with the message about third edict mentioning the druid).

For 0.3 we got act 4 and interludes and some major changes and druid was halfway through, we also got also async trade and other major changes.

For 0.4 we were expecting endagme changes but instead we got druid with 2 ascendancies and talismans and most important we got temple (atlas endgame was halfway through?)
For 0.5 we can finally expect those endgame changes (hope for major) and other stuff.
Cannot say they're not working on the game, can we?

I'd like to to see the difficulty be made closer to 0.1 again. But realise we also know more than we did then and also have had more crafting items made available, temple this league made the campaign a breeze due to giving us much better gear than we had in 0.1

Keep improving our crafting options and teaching people to craft well in the campaign, but buff up the mobs and bosses knowing that we have better gear.

Oh yeah that's not what i mean, i know they are working a lot on the game and need to handle both games.
It's more in the way that it was what i wanted to happen after them announcement mid league and it didnt so now i prefere to just wait and see until we get official annoucement before to get excited.

I played many games and i truly believe the devs here are a great team compare to what i've seen. They are pationate.
I'm glad they delayed it instead of pushing an half ready update also. It happen and will most likely happen again.

Most of us that play too much are just impatient, myself included.

I just rather have them focus on fixing bugs and end game than changing campaign again.

The PoE1 faithful are already, as you put it, married. Pulling them across solves nothing.


GGG said several times they are very concerned with that (bringing POE1 base into POE2). That's why they transfer all POE1 mtx into POE2 for free. Probably they want to shut POE1 down eventually and work only on 1 game.
