Time for GGG to step up and stand up against trade bots
|
I'm confused. Are you angry that you can't get any of those maps?
Or angry that you can't get the cheap ones? This reminds me of a post where someone was complaining that he couldn't buy mispriced items, that he was deliberately live searching from, so that he could try to benefit from some poor trader's mistake. Buy the map at what they worth. There's plenty for sale RIGHT NOW! Same goes for anything else. |

" These aren't strawman arguments....they are the absolute basics of what you are asking GGG to do. The exact opposite of a strawman. The only strawman example was the Google one....and it only remains a strawman if you understand nothing about the internet. But that's also why I followed it up with joe schmoe dot com. Because on an actionable level, they are the same from GGG's perspective. Plus, fighting against a random website might actually invoke and involve Google or another exceedingly dominant company in even the most minor of lawsuits, if Google (likely) happens to control any domain information or even the programming behind the website's design. It's nice having my points illustrated eloquently. In case it isn't clear: GGG actively 24/7 monitors their game, banning accounts that break their terms of service regularly. They police their forums in much the same way. This is in their sphere of control and they do absolutely everything in their power to protect and maintain these spaces. They pretty much have to, because financial information and sensitive data exists. I am SURE, without having to know every single specific example, there are numerous tech laws across the world that require gaming companies to provide a certain degree of protection and maintenance, not to mention their own desire for their game not to get destroyed. But there is much of the world beyond PoE that exists beyond GGG's explicit control. What YOU are specifically asking is for them to go beyond the things that are in their control, brand, or legally controlled spaces: any step in that direction invokes legal action. Or illegal behavior. Something you appear to know nothing about. It's fine to not know...just don't pretend you do. THIS is where rmt lives, bot farming, etc. There is no solution, there is only in-game mechanisms to block the impact. Which are fully in place and fully active. Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Mar 21, 2026, 1:51:10 AM

It's being impossible to profit being a HO Warrior, and GGG needs to fix this, that should be priority number one...
It's a shame that EVERY game is floaded with cheaters and this is literally happening to EVERY game, GGG should sing with a AC platform. |

" Have you tried doing something that's actually useful like crafting? I know flippers are a thing and people preying on other people's mistakes like sharks is also a thing, but honestly if those two things disappeared tomorrow, I personally wouldn't consider anything of value was lost. I'd rather GGG use their resources on something useful, not enabling these kind of behaviors that frankly don't benefit the game or the majority of players in any way. As for the actual bots, I see GGG doing everything they can to ban them. Bots as a phenomenon will never disappear, every game has them. The only solution you're actually suggesting here is to make the trade system more annoying for the regular player just so you can snipe that map 1c cheaper. No thanks.
