Bought the best elemental dps mace with the same aps under 1 div. The elemental mace was 30% slower. So BLS is the better weapon 12 1.2k strength on me, whether the minions benefit the damage from my strength or not... (but this test would suggest that they are?)
Was kinda hoping you were right as it's a lot cheaper to scale without being strength stacker. My only str upgrades now requires a reflected simplex amulet or reflected helical rings. |

So, I read up on Animate Weapon of Self Reflection, which is supposed to work similar to this. If I'm reading this right, in those cases where they use the player's stats, the weapons themselves explicitly state as much. I.e. "per Player maximum Life".
Brutus' Lead Sprinkler doesn't have such a line, so that should mean that Minions use their own STR to scale their damage - as that's how these things normally work - and, thus, should not benefit from yours. I can't speak for the tests you are running, but they are probably not done right. A single test to draw a conclusion is no basis to begin with. " Its better because its completely removing the damage of the dangerous big hits. You are doing ok vs smaller hits with glancing blows but once things start doing attacks that can do thousands of damage with all the mods and map effect stacking glancing blows falls off hard. Like to do a math example lets says 4 large hits come through that hit you for 5000 damage pre block. We will assume the math works out normally so full block will mitigate two attacks and glancing blows will reduce three attacks. Full block math: 2 hit for 0 damage and you gain 1000 ES each block because of shield 2 hit for full damage and you take 10000 damage Net damage taken after the attacks 8000 Glancing blows math: 3 attacks hit you for 35% reduced damage (3250 damage) but you get 1000 ES on block so each hit does 2250 damage 3 times so 6750 1 attack gets through and hits you you for the full 5000 Net damage taken after the attacks 11750 Tldr the lower the hit the better glancing blows will feel with high recovery on block but the larger hits get the more useless glancing blows will be. |

" I agree with you that it shouldn't work. I'm just saying my 5c BLS beat a 1Div ele weapon even if it isn't working through the strength mechanism. As a guardian I have the three elemental relics (for both tests), maybe that affected it? Maybe fire damage I'm personally getting from BLS outweighs any damage that the minions are getting/not getting? Statistically speaking I killed the boss once with each weapon, and it took me 5 mins BLS and almost 7min with the ele weapon. This is enough evidence for me, given that the boss invites had no mods and took enough attacks (5min+) that variance from crits etc will cancel out (There were two extra sewer phases - so I'm happy enough that the dps difference is not related to taking longer in those phases for one run)). |

Are you still having problems with your tank? I was thinking it might just be as simple as not having enough life. My build has like 6k health and I still have problems with getting one shot in some rippy maps. There isn't really an easy and cheap solution to having enough life but I see lots of your gear doesn't have any life rolls. Like I was thinking your gloves could possibly be better as just rare gloves I don't personally feel like you gain much from shaper touch gloves on your build but I could be wrong.
Anyhow if your still having problems let us know and possibly give specifics to what is getting you. |

Thanks for the help everyone, its a great community. The build is good enough to complete the T16 in the atlas now and gaining XP again. The two big things for the tankiness were getting CWDT Molten shell, and removing the double block keystone.
Here is the updated state of the build https://pobb.in/eXLrPHpHoHL0 The only tank update I think I can get now is to get kingmaker for fortification on the animate guardian, and to increase my max res cap. To increase my max res cap I think I can't do it until I get MB so will be a few weeks. |

This nearly block caps you and gets your chance to hit at 100% which it currently isnt even close to. I removed the dex and Attack speed nodes at the beginning as well as the small nodes at the start to save a few points. Took the spell block nodes near the minion attack speed notable. There is a lot of other improvements that could be made but this is just at a quick glance Overall its a small DPS loss for much more consistency with attacks and a massive block gain. One small adjustment, remove the armor mastery that gives armor to boots or gloves or whatever and get the 3% attack block at sanctuary. That will get you to 75% attack block Edit: Ok I missed you were using a crit tincutre. Drop that and get one close to what I put. Doesnt have to be exact. https://pobb.in/Li9ytoP4X7m7 Last edited by gladiatorpie#3317 on Mar 15, 2026, 4:44:33 AM

Thanks for the feedback. The Guardian block node ascendancy is in place, but not configured in either of our pobs, so the attack block is max, but I like the spell block wheel idea.
If I go RT, I can ditch the crit wheel, the dex/acc nodes and drop precision. It does look to be better. I like that this frees up more passives and some reservation. |

Wow! That got me the two sockets for forbidden flesh and flame. I can now add discipline, and herald of ash. Not sure if these are best.
