My build should be tanky but can't hanlde T14...

Armor is a scam. And evasion & block are empty stats if you get hit.
Take these away from your brain calculations, and you'll realize why you're not actually tanky when the hits are landing. Evading 99% of hits doesn't mean you have 99% damage reduction. (Armor does less for you the more you need it. If a big hit connects, it provides less reduction. Completely asinine design choice, but here we are.) I used to play over 100k armor. Always got 1-shot by random stuff. Once I woke up and decided to give up on armor, life's been easier. Now, I typically go for things that change incoming phys dmg to another type, or things that add straight-up damage reduction like Endurance Charges or buffs like from a Chaos Golem. P.S. Your life pool is fine. People get weird about life pools here, and they seem to think you should be able to get 6k life while also getting all the other things you need for the game. The truth is that around 3.5k life is just fine, if you're also getting other layers like I mentioned. And last but not least, as they say... a good defense is a good offense. Very few builds can actually TANK tank this game. A lot of damage reduction comes in the form of your offense. Do you CC enemies at all? Do you outrange them? Do your things come out faster than theirs? Are you able to move while killing? These things matter arguably more than what your stats are, although both certainly matter. " Well they seem to use your weapon stats as base. I think the old pob I posted I had 300? strength. I'm at 1k now (need a simplex or MB to improve so need to save up) and am doing it feels like 5x more damage... |

" Usually true, but I've done very successful builds before with much less, but had more aura effect/Armour/max res etc.. For this build I've added 3k ES now, but I think the key thing making it tankier was CWDT Molten Shell. |

" I will give it a go without it. (the block % will be awful though) |

" Thanks, I think this post most aligns with my thinking except maybe the armour bait part. My armour this build is low compared to where I normally reach, but I typically do melee builds that don't even take half damage from shaper slams. I like ethe dmg convert tech, but it is quite restrictive on equipment choices, so when I roll my own builds like this it's hard to take it. Definitely like endurance charge or real pdr stacking vs armour. Made a build once with 90% pdr and no armour back when enduring cry/ jugg got you to 7pdr per endurance charge. That was fun, but failed for dmg reasons). I'm holy strike this character, so stuck in melee range. I think now the last thing I can improve is my max res cap, but can't see how to do that until I get MB I just can't afford the -70% res on melding of the flesh |

" Cap your block if you are going to do it. Dont half ass block if you are going to invest in it. My point was more along the lines of glancing blows makes you think you are much tankier than you are cause you see that max block and think you are doing pretty good in the defense department when in reality its actually actively hurting you. Even half assing it was noticably better. Not sure why. Respecced ascendancy to cap attack block, but spell block I don't see capping without making some $$ first.

Try swapping Determination for Aspect of the Crab.
The improved version gives you 24%PDR and you save 25% mana reservation. You could even combine it with arctic armor even. Also, fortification is pretty much mandatory for melee builds. On top of that, Immortal Call > Molten Shell if you have a reliable way to regain endurance charges. Other than that I think ShadyC nailed it. Unless you get other benefits from stacking armor, beyond 15k it starts to have diminishing returns. P.S.: I'm not sure how holy strike works, but haste + multistrike + faster attacks seems like overkill. You could swap faster attacks for a damage multiplier and if you need the speed for the lulz then there's tinctures that can give you attack speed (you could get the prismatic one for 100% increased damage too) and get a vaal haste that you can activate for a quick boost. Just my opinion though. Cheers. |

Good suggestions.
I need a FFlame for unwavering faith then I can include aspect of the crab. I'm running out of sockets now so I don't think I can spare arctic armor. Fortification is from kingmaker (or will be once I get $$) I will try Immortal Call, I get endurance on block and on being hit at the moment. But note that molten shell has the additional benefit now that I'm on Aegis of increasing the energy shield recovered on block. HS minions attack when I do, so minion attack speed doesn't help them, just my attack speed. You are right that the three speed boosts (and now onslaught on bots) is overkill. I had it there when I was using a 1.2 attack speed 2 hand mace. Will switch out faster attacks, not sure what for, will need to test as Pob doesn't get it anywhere near reality yet. Vaal haste is a good plan too. |

" You are dealing more damage. And, of course, your Minions will too, with more levels. That doesn't change the fact that they have no base STR and will not scale with that weapon. It doesn't matter that you have 1k STR when you are using a STR scaling weapon and your Minions don't have any STR. [3.28] Poor Man's Ward Loop: https://youtu.be/-tBxtkoQSiw
