0.4.0c Hotfix 13

I was genuinely having a blast building up my snake — even bought a skin pack to support the game, and then this patch drops out of nowhere and completely guts the experience.

I’ve been playing Path of Exile for over a decade, and I can honestly say this is the most disappointing patch I’ve ever seen. Dropping a massive nerf like this right over New Year’s is baffling. Who thought mid‑patch nerfs were a good idea? Who signed off on this?

The Temple nerf in 0.4 is just incredibly disheartening. After all the time invested, this feels like a slap in the face.

Utterly disappointed.

All right, I guess I will not be working on building a temple.

Moving on to some other game so.

Imagine being the one to suggest: hmm lets make the lock harder to get and it only protects tier 3 rooms. so the players with fully built temples can protect theirs. isn't that genius guys? GGG: yes! absolutely, lfg!

Good job ggg! You've successfully sentenced casual players to death, forced them to quit the game.

Decided to skip the league before the 0.4 launch and as I see it was the best decision after seeing such patches. xD RIP

To be clear: the patch is not the issue here, the balance should have been tested BEFORE the league start, not in the middle of it. Some things never changes... league after league the balance is not in the scope as always.

REVERT THE LOCK CHANGE.

What I'm about to say might not have much to do with the game itself, but there is life after PoE.
I've played this game for thousands of hours, but don't let a game ruin your life. Do other activities, go out, go to the movies, play sports, read a book, etc.
Don't feel like slaves and addicts to this type of game because you're wasting hours of your life on something virtual, honestly.
I leveled up a character to level 97 in this league, and when I saw that the famous players and streamers were abusing Holten and GGG did absolutely nothing, I stopped playing immediately.
Thank goodness I stopped because the catastrophe was already coming, and I imagine it's frustrating to spend hours and hours building the temple (it wasn't my case because I stopped long before) only to have them release a hotfix and ruin everything.
So invest your valuable time in other activities and return to 0.5 like many other players will.
Happy New Year 2026, players, and don't forget there's life after a virtual game, don't forget it ;)

99% im gonna drop this game, not just this league but all future leagues as well. . I tried to catch up with the market in previous leagues but I didn't stand a chance thus every league was dropped after a month or so. The temple gave us that chance. Now you've anighilated the only "equalizer" you added (presumably by a mistake).

The temple wasn't broken, yes and what's more, I agree with the reduction in loot. that's understandable you want all mechanincs to be equal in terms of profit but that works only for those few people who alredy have the "perfect" temple - the rest just been robbed (I'm talking NOT about the damn LOOT BUT TIME (you took away dozens of hours spent) . There is no chance to build anything like that right now. of coure collective mind of those who gonna stay in this leagus will find a workaround but 99% sure it wont be so effictive as the "legacy" temples

I don't want those temples to be deleted, just UNDO the latest pathc but keep the loot part only. (the cut is fine - everyone is ok with that)

Please listen to the community. If you think you understand something better than us, you probably do. BUT in that case, let's have a QA live session and discuss it before introducing such patches. (otherwise sooner ot later but you are gonna lose decent portion of adepts/players)
