Question
I assume that by default the filter hides almost everything, with few expectations like uniques, is that correct? So, when i disable life and mana flasks inside "My Flasks and Charms" it shouldn't show me any type of flask, is that right or am i getting something wrong? Because that's not what is happening rn, when i disable the rule nothing changes Same thing for charms, i have 3 of them selected, but i'm seeing a sapphire charm which i don't have selected, it doesn't have quality or high ilvl, is just a regular sapphire charm Here's my filter: https://www.pathofexile.com/item-filter/MNqOR9C0 The only way i found to hide them was by selecting "Hide Remaining Flasks and Charms" Personally, i don't think this should be necessary, it's another setting on the quick page that makes it feel like there are too many options and gives the impression that the filter is "unapproachable" Maybe i'm just doing something wrong? But i really can't find what would cause this to happen Last edited by Vyend#2601 on Apr 3, 2026, 1:12:31 PM

" The problem is that I can’t change that value, but I’d like to customize it to fit my own preferences. I simply have no way to do that. ![]() " For example, if The Survivalist drops as 1/3 during farming (it gives 7x Orb of Alchemy), I’m not interested in picking that card up. But if it drops as a full 3/3 stack, then why not? This is most relevant when farming Div Cards — for example, a boss might drop three 3/3 stacks and one 2/3 or 1/3 stack. I would pick up the full stacks and then turn them in to the divination card vendor for a small Orb of Alchemy sustain (since I don’t pick alchs up from the ground), but I don’t even want to see the incomplete ones (I’m too proud XD). Wouldn’t it be possible to make a script that checks the items added to a rule, and when the Full Stack option is enabled, the script looks up the maximum stack size for each item in that rule? Then the script could generate separate filter code entries such as The Survivalist 3/3 and Loyalty 5/5, while visually in the interface it would still be shown as one single rule instead of 2 or more separate ones. So the point here is convenience and speed for the end user when creating rules: click 3 div cards, open the advanced settings, tick the Full Stack checkbox — that’s 5 clicks total — instead of making 3 separate rules, then looking up each card individually to find its maximum stack size, and so on. It would also improve the visual ergonomics of the interface, because instead of creating a dozen rules, you could make just one. And as far as I understand, it wouldn’t add a single extra unnecessary character to the filter code. The only thing it would add is some work for you to write that processing script. ^^, |

" The general concept is: 1. My items: specify items you're particularly interested in, to craft on or to identify, other than 'generally valuable items'. 2. Other items: specify which generally valuable items you're interested in, to trade. 3. Specify what to do with the 'remaining items' (you're not particularly interested in for yourself, nor to trade). Each of these 3 categories have their own section and/or rule group. For flasks & charms, these three categories are combined in their separate section. For equipment, this is combined in sections on the right-hand side of the Quick Filters. Then there is a section for uniques, and for currency, which are largely just tiered. I think I'll rework the tutorial to start by giving this overview. " But if I'd let you change that value, say from 0 to 10, what should I do with uniques which cost less than 10? :D You're always left with a 'remainder', a tier for items of that type (uniques, currency, div cards) in a 'base tier', lower than the second-lowest tier, no? " Well, my assumption is that if you're specifically target-farming div cards (or otherwise), you just dump all div cards in your stash, and from time to time, you hand any completed stacks in, in bulk. In this scenario, with that assumption, a 5/5 stack is only 20% more valuable than a 4/5 stack; there's no reason why you'd want to entirely hide the latter and not the former. " It's technically possible, I just need to know the full stack size, which is included in the game files which I scrape from poedb. But like I said, I'd need a separate filter output rule for each combination of (low) tier + stack size. Let's say I only do this for the first 3 tiers; but in each of those, there are on average 10 different 'max stack sizes' (stacks of 1, of 2, of 3, of 5, of 10, of 15,...). Then I'd need 30 extra rules. That's quite a bit. There's always the trade-off between a more useful filter on the one hand, and a managable, processable size (and performance impact) on the other hand. You care about those div card stacks, another user cares more about some other aspect of the filter, a third user yet another aspect... if I include everything, the filter output would get ever larger up till a point where the performance impact would get too big -- for pretty much everyone. But I've added it to the backlog! :) Author of https://poe2filter.com and https://poe1filter.com - Path of Exile 1 & 2 Custom Filter Generators Last edited by BlackDeathBE#0559 on Apr 3, 2026, 9:10:37 PM

" A tutorial explaining this would be helpful, but i think the issue is that different sections of the filter work differently "My Equipment" is based on exceptions, but flasks & charms are not, it's kind of inconsistent imo, i think it'd be better if everything followed the same logic for the most part I think it's easier to just choose what you want, and hide everything else, right now with flasks and charms i need to 2 things, first is to select the flasks/charms i want, and then i need to go down and check all the boxes to "Hide remaining non-Unique" I expected that deactivating the rule would hide everything. I think doing it this way is not only faster but also consistent with how you do in "My Equipment" |
