Anyone hit by the latest banwave hear back from GGG yet?
|
My main account got hit with a botting ban on march 20th. Submitted an appeal straight after because I was playing as it occurred (ssf btw). Now it's been 11 days since and now I'm wondering if I should move on and play on an alt, accepting the ban if the appeal is denied. If playing since 2013 and multiple supporter pack purchases means being treated the same as fresh botted accounts, then I might as well join their ranks with only the necessary stash tab purchases.

Playtime & purchases should have no bearing on account suspensions.
GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.

Well I don't see you denying botting.

Ok, so the team that handles appeals is different than the support team. Frontline support doesn't handle that due to people being less than honest approximately 100% of the time.
As such you're completely at the mercy of the tyranny of the queue. It is possible that your login details were in some trove of data somewhere and your ban was proactive in nature, but you won't know until you hear back from the support team that handles that. But hey, since you spun up a new account already you can just play that. I recommend ruthless. See if you can do all the ruthless challenges before they get back to you. IGN : Reamus

I haven't been hit by any banwave. Mostly because..well, I don't cheat.
That said, it's bloody hilarious. Are you perhaps getting cold responses? :D :D :D Last edited by AlvinL_#4492 on Apr 1, 2026, 9:14:34 AM

Yeah. Bunch of people got banned including a friend of mine.
People will just say they cheated anyway, guilty until proven innocent :) Regardless, permanently banning people for "macros/rmt/botting" on a single account on their first offense is ridiculous. OSRS is a game that is way more negatively harmed by such behaviour and doesn't even do that. The audacity to ban you and not disclose WHY they banned you but then say "you can make a new account and keep playing!" is a complete joke too. What, so they can just get banned for no reason again? lmao. | |
" It is crazy they ban and don't provide any info. I know some people got banned before for using a mod - I think for widescreen support? And they never got unbanned. That is some BS especially because they never said it was bannable. I think most people know they will get banned for RMT, bots, etc. but not for mods like that. And lets keep in mind, this is not a competitive game. It's a single player online game so having a widescreen support mod is not a big deal or end of the world. They should just get a warning. |

" OSRS absolutely does that. don't cheat, problem solved |
