" That’s not how it has ‘always’ been interpreted, you’re presenting your own view as a universal standard. There’s no indication that this is the correct meaning, so it seems more likely you’re misrepresenting it rather than correcting others. |

" Do some research instead of an off-the-cuff response: most mentions, articles, or talks regarding "what" exactly a casual gamer means is quite clear and consistent. Casual itself also has a pretty specific definition. Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Mar 24, 2026, 4:37:43 PM

Challenges were great this league, even endgame grinds is easy af, cross contamination is free and I didn't have to buy carries for any this time around. Joined my friend's uber boss kills for that challenge cus I was feeling lazy.
The 8000 map tiers one was way too grindy and boring though, same for "75 astrolabe map bosses while the map has 150% quant". For the astrolabe one I felt so limited, having to use uber atziri fragments to add quant to every map and exalting all maps to 6-mod with a full atlas effect+quant atlas tree specced. After it was done I was like "finally I'm free to do my alch&go maps" lmao Honestly all the astrolabe challenges were far too grindy, it should have been 15 maps of 4x different types of astrolabe(so 60 overall) instead of 30 x4 which is 120 astrolabe influenced maps. That is waayyyyy too many. I think they just overdid the numbers on those challenges because they want people to interact with the shiny new mechanics, next league most likely will have only 1-2 astrolabe-related challenges at most and the number requirements won't be as high. And the map tiers challenge took the longest, was just a lot of boring Mesa boss rushing. Lifelong NEET, loud and proud about it.

" Paying for carries makes everything easy, regardless of the objective. You should try completing all 40 on your own next league, since they’re supposedly so easy :) " It wouldn’t be nearly as bad as you’re making it sound if you were running 8-mod maps, since those already meet the quantity requirement on their own and still let you add scarabs to farm currency along the way. Both of the challenges you mentioned are actually pretty manageable this league, even if you’re not mapping all the time and spend a good chunk of time doing things like Delve. It only really feels “grindy” because there aren’t carry services for those specific challenges. Without that option, it starts to feel tedious only if you’re not actively engaging in endgame mapping, usually because your character isn’t quite strong enough yet. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun. Last edited by Pashid#4643 on Mar 24, 2026, 8:40:29 PM

I mean they're just for fun not for challenge. 5 ubers + Feared is the only challenge and 3 of the ubers you can walk over on bad builds. Nightmare maps you can just walk over with shrines if you want.

" 18 days into a 90/120 day league..with 40/40...and the grindy challenge numbers are too grindy? The logic....oof....my brain hurts. If anything, people achieving 40/40 so quickly on grind challenges mean these numbers are heavily, heavily undertuned. 8000 map tiers, if we look purely in terms of t16s, is 500 maps. 500 maps across a 90 day league is 5-6 maps per day. How long does that take even the SLOWEST clearing build? 5 minutes per map? 2500 minutes total, or 40ish hours? On the extremely high estimated time? Doing something you would already be doing by enjoying the game normally? A person playing only 30 minutes a day could still finish this grind, with time to spare. And all that time you are ALSO getting progress on multiple other grinds such as the astrolabe ones. So it isn't even a sequential thing. Why do you choose to punish yourself into no-lifing the game, getting bored of the grinds you are spending 10 straight hours doing day after day, and then feel like its remotely okay to complain that the game is too grindy and/or boring?
