Deadlock Detected
|
Aaaaaand now it's happening again, right after character selection. It worked flawlessly up until 45 minutes ago, ran multiple maps and some Delve nodes. Once more, _zero_ state changes on this end, neither on the PC as such (not even a logout), nor on the networking side. The incidence is definitely triggered by some server-side state changes.

Looks like it's working fine since yesterday.
Other than the hotfixes, i switched back to Vulkan (also upgraded my character but i'm not sure it helped) |

just got a Deadlock detected while in my hideout. First time I've seen this.

Nine pages and still no staff posts? You would think they'd be scrambling to fix this problem. It's obviously effecting tons of people.
I load the game just fine from Steam The problem occurs when I click the Log In button I tried to delete my /Documents/My Games/Path of Exile folder ~~~ Hasn't worked I tried to verify integrity of files ~~~ Hasn't worked I tried to reinstall ~~~ Hasn't worked I tried to restart my computer ~~~ Hasn't worked I tried swapping from DX12 to DX11 (Ew, disgusting) ~~~ Hasn't worked My drivers are up to date My files are all in the right places I haven't changed anything about the game up until I deleted my folder (Which should be remade on game reboot) I don't know what else to do. GGG, please... I want to play your game, but I can't. |

I turned on the window mode and the error did not occur for 2 days.

Restart your computer.
Make sure your display is plugged to your dedicated GPU instead of Motherboard. Run "PackCheck" at the PoE installation folder. Run PoE, try to change renderer to Directx11. |

I just lost a 50m Shipment to deadlock detected. Loaded the map (captured by Pirate boss), got the error, game closed.
Opened it again, portal was gone I fucking hate this error right now. Last edited by Alsirius#4786 on Mar 20, 2026, 9:48:01 PM

Follow up to my last post in this thread, crash seems to just be specific to vulkan for now, dx12 doesn't crash anymore. Guess i'll take the performance hit when using dx12 to at least be able to play the game.

Hey everyone,
Posting here because this issue has been driving me crazy since Mirage league started and I haven’t seen any staff response on any of the threads about this. What happens: Getting the Deadlock Detected error mid-session. When it hits, GPU fan goes into overdrive and the system completely stops recognizing my GPU — not just in-game, in Device Manager too. Normal shutdown doesn’t fix it. The only way to recover is a full power cycle with the PSU switched off at the back and waiting for everything to discharge, which can take hours. What I’ve tried: ∙ Driver rollback to August 2025 via DDU — worked for about a day then crashed again ∙ Capped FPS to 60, monitor at 60Hz ∙ Switched to DirectX 11 Nothing has fully resolved it. The crash even happened while idle in my hideout with zero combat load, so it’s not a heat or stress issue — my temps were sitting at 50-55°C when it hit. This has been reported since December last year and the threads keep piling up since Mirage launched. Has anyone found a reliable fix? And has there been any acknowledgment from GGG on this at all? |
