I had been playing CwC Icestorm for the last 3 or 4 years and it was by far one of my favorites builds in over a decade of playing, but I decided to give this a shot due to the nerfs to Int/ES this league. I transitioned from my HFT league starter to this without too much hassle since a lot of the travel nodes were pretty similar. I'm sure glad I did because it's been a blast (pun intended), much like Arc Witch from a lifetime ago.

The downsides are definitely unique, and occasionally annoying, but well worth it considering both the clear speed and single target damage this build has, on top of being pretty durable. It's also great QoL to take advantage of Precursor's Release to just ignore some of the more annoying things in this game.

Excellent job Enki.

Thank you! HFT indeed seems like a good build to transition from, I might add this alongside the Absolution setup I used this league whenever I got time to make some POBs.

oo thats a good shout ill try to get my hands on one!! do you have any other ideas on how to scale it more of bossing only?

If you know all boss moves well enough, you could possibly skip all block nodes to pick up more life and cluster jewels. This might get you killed in some of the more chaotic fights, but for something predictable like Uber Sirus it should be fine.

If you can afford them, you could also get Entropic Devastation with a Vulnerability on Hit corruption to burst down bosses even faster.

Hey Enki or folks that have tried this build. What level do you recommend swapping? Like beside the level requirement in the items, what is the "feel good" level to swap over to this build? Currently leveling with sunder

I haven't tried it myself yet, but I've been told the build feels good from Level 38 on once you can equip Essence Worm and get the 84% reservation going. Another breaking point would be Level 68, where you can equip Rathpith Globe for all the damage scaling it gives.

I didn't follow your build, but I stumbled upon way later on, and see that your idea of it matches the general idea of it.

I must say that this is the most fun I ever had in Path of Exile (playing since the early days), the strongest I ever was, able to do all content, farmed multiple mirrors of value (basically I'm at the point where I'm turning time into currency/roll the dice for progenesis drop, etc.)

The build is very simple, after you get it going, it's a (literal) one-button build, where you have one button to cast your Blood Sacrament, and optionally you can use a single Flame Dash if you want to have that dash ability.

Everything else is empty sockets, with Pride in your Essence Worm as the only other gem (which is just an aura, not a cast skill).

Basically rivals things like RF when it comes to number of things you need to press.

The damage is absurd, you can scale it exponentially, no cap. At one point, you'll be so invested into damage, that you will die here and there (the whole build revolves on reserving as much H as you can, meaning that temporarily you go down to few % of HP, giving the small opportunity to high damage to kill you) but the damage is enough to clear any content you want. Who cares if I died one time in a Uber Maven fight if I can clear it fast? Technically, you can drop some damage to keep 75% block (giving you a ton more survivability) but if it isn't 100%, then who cares? Besides, you play Gladiator version then, with the lucky block, not Scion.

All in all, the best experience in the game I've had, and I would recommend it to everyone.

@Enki, do you think BiS is Mageblood or one of the new belts?

Thank you so much! It kinda started as a yolo no POB build last league, and has quickly become one of my favorite things to play in the game.

As for the belts, it's kinda hard to come to a conclusive answer. Having perma massive shrine from Screams of the Dessicated felt really nice, and the extra life helps to survive while casting. It also enables a setup with The Gull for people that run shrines on their atlas tree.

But Mageblood just offers so much potential defense and speed, plus a lot more flexibility with gearing. So I'd say this is still the better choice once you can afford it, but running a massive shrine Dessicated with a secondary effect that adds shrine buff effect is a great budget option.

Now that I've hit 100 with this build again, here's a snapshot of my character and some thoughs:

Spoiler

The improvements I've made from last leagues version (in the video) felt great and made the build both cheaper and more flexible. As mentioned in a post above, Screams of the Dessicated is a nice mid-budget option that also enables some specialized setups for shrine atlas trees and bossing. Really hope it stays in the game and will be reasonably obtainable.

All Ubers went down without much issue on the mid-budget setup, however after a bit of luck (2x House of Mirrors from a vault) I decided to invest into an Adorned setup anyway to make getting to 100 a bit safer. Still died once at 99, most likely from missing the extra defense of a proper Mageblood + Progenesis setup. Other than that it went pretty flawless.

I'll update the guide and POBs a bit with all this new information once I find some time!
