Technically you preordered nothing. You didn`t pay for the sake of playing poe2 alone. You went for ea compromise to declare x amount of money which 1:1 equivalent you received to spend at ingame shop. This was not a purchase like last epoch, d4, titan quest or whatever arpg you have to buy to play. And for all joining 1.0+ it will be free2play.

As for my question it has everything to do with it. By requesting optional offline you`re not only asking them to resign from unquestionable data gathering but also to devaluate their live service model they work with for more than decade. Yeee, i can see tencent and other stakeholders allowing that. Also i can see community saying, screw balance, screw new content, GGG has to rethink business model asap because TechnicallBrains#4648 has connection issues.

Not to mention things like offline progress validation. I`m genuinely curious how last epoch handles that if it indeed works in offline/online mode. If you`re talking about always offline mode - don`t even think new content will be there.

So, how much would you be willing to pay for GGG/stakeholders make such compromise?

Tbh - your best shot is to check wether your pc/internet connection are fine because i played 3 seasons with zero ping issues for majority of time(eu frankfurt server).

Even if there are thousands, my points about offline mode are still valid. Maybe they should improve servers, maybe you and thousands alike should check pc/connection -it`s no difference for offline mode case given what i said.
