Loot sucks in PoE2

It's a market simulator, not a looter game.
So loot is garbage and you only can get decent items from Trade or when you craft, but for that you need even more currency and pretty heavy preparations.
That majority of loot will always be rng garbage because we judge what is good based on what we already have.

If ground loot was good we'd find one above average good item and then all ground loot for that slot is now bad relative to what we already have.

Poe1 is experiencing this now with the blood tree. It dumps piles of items with 4× t1 affixes and in less than 1 week 99.999% of rare drops are worthless.

We either wear garbage and frolic in the garbage, or wear designer items and grimace at the drops.
"Beidat honored the pact, though Beardat wouldn't take off Doryani’s prototype."
I think you need to plan your builds better.
I am a first time POE 1 or 2 player playing POE2. I have completed the story content and am now in the end game grinding out maps. I am a level 71 sorceress who is running T1 and T2 maps (but T3 are now available). My newest gear is maybe level 50 but most is much older. What I learned in the story mode is that if I got stuck at a boss, it was either because my elemental protection was too low or because I simply could not do enough dps, both of which are loot problems.

Loot drops are pointless. The way they have designed the game, only certain capabilities matter, like increased speed on boots or +n on all spells on a staff/wand. My inventory is so small that picking up magic items is pointless so I only grab the rares and they simply do not have the properties needed. The need to identify the capabilities of an item was such a fascinating part of the early game but is just a drag on the later game. There must be some way of learning a skill to "see" the properties of an item without picking it up. My favorite part (sarcasm) are the uniques. I have seen very few uniques, most of them "corrupted" and, therefore useless. Despite the small number, I have seen 3 copies of the same "unique" so something seems very, very broken with the RNG.

I have run 10-20 maps in endgame and found no new items of value. Despite doing 10-20 maps in the endgame, my character has gained a single level (from 70 to 71). Since the items available for sale in game only refresh upon level change, I must grind maps to find something that would help. Apparently, progressing in the endgame will be painfully slow and seemingly pointless. As a new player in this game, why would I continue? The loot drops are completely pointless. Leveling my character would require a full time job. If I had known that this game was more of a trading simulator, I would have saved my $30 and played something else. Here is hoping they fix this glaring problem that has been mentioned countless times online.
+1 ground loot should be more exciting and primarily how you progress your character

People saying to "not expect perfect mods" but even in juiced endgame there are plenty of gear dropping with a bunch of T8 affixes that are essentially useless.

I find that almost all loot is a waste of time. Just ignore everything and pick up currency. Its sad that a game based around loot and gear is solely reliant on a crafting system to craft useful gear or using currency to buy the far too rare item that someone got lucky to drop.

So many items need to be reworked so their values arent crap or a way to upgrade or maximize values on items from their low inherent stats to the end game level of stats.

I have mixed feelings about the crafting system. It works but is also terrible at the same time.

If this is true about you then you are never catching what the real money makers are doing.

Picking up raw currency and thats it is a pretty low sustainable idea, and anyone +1ing this idea is kind of telling us where they are at skill/knowledge wise on this game and how to get loot.

You just dont know what mods are worth is all. This is true for poe1 as well

Not sure why we are bumping a Nov 5th post.

I genuinely don't understand who the current system of progressively worse loot vomit as you level up could possibly appeal to. For most features in this game or mechanics that I don't like, I can at least ay to myself, well some people might like to play that way, or like that it's this way even if I don't.

Not for this system of excessive clutter that adds lag and sucks the fun straight out of the game. There is zero fun in poking around trying to find the 1 useful thing out of 50 pieces of crap on the ground.

I had to adjust my loot filter, using a slow ass clunky UI third party website 6 or 7 times during the season. It was tedious and not fun. (no disrespect to whoever runs filterblade, despite the issues using your filter you have my thanks, would be a crime if you're not being paid by GGG, and if they are they should pay you more to take the time to make it more functional or incorporated directly into the game)

GGG can and should do the math to lower the number of loot drops, not just for items but for currency, and increase the general quality so it all stays in balance. It's an easy fix, just involves doing the math to make it right. It's really inexcusable.

Try poe2filter, is pretty good and i think it's better than filter blade

I think that an in-game loot filter is only a matter of time, even D2R and D4 are incorporating them into their games

This summarizes it perfectly, the intended experience is picking all the crap and seeing how you can get something good from it with currency, reforging, recombining and then crafting

There are so many steps and downtime, buying a solid base from the trade site and then crafting on top of it is so much easier and faster too..

After gearing up i basically hide all loot with a few exceptions like exceptional bases
