The LACK of information

How would you guys feel if all the sauce section at grocery stores were identified as "Great sauce', 'Good sauce', 'Risky sauce', 'Rewarding Sauce' with an opaque label preventing you from seeing the sauce?

You could never know if it's an Alfredo sauce, a spaghetti sauce or tatziki sauce? You'd have to google it everytime or buy them, open them to know if the knowledge isn't out yet.

That's how poe is.

'Wish that makes frogs appear in mirage'. Yeah so what? What's the effect? You have to GOOGLE it to know they give extra exp. Why can't we make an informed decision by playing the game? Why do we need to google everything?

This just points to a lack of communication skills, can't you see that?

You'd only need to add (50% more exp) next to frogs. It's easy, you're already programming the drop characteristic, why can't you write it down in the description?

'Adds 12 packs of rewarding monsters'. What rewards? Farad Uniques!

JUST WRITE IT DOWN.

We want to PLAY the game, not become POE academics!

Every league, we start by playing blind until a SAVIOR invests time to demystify all this, this can take the first 1-2 weeks every time. SUCH a pain. Now you mostly just skip the league mechanic for 1-2 weeks until it's all figured out.

This thread is the equivalent to complaining about having to aim while playing a shooter.

The fact that they expect the players to Google and YT every single aspect of this game is just lazy.

Comparing that to "aiming in a shooter" ironically proves the point. You're so expected to outsource information, that people are comparing it to aiming in a shooter. Case in point, lmao...

Could you explain how it proves the point? Acquiring knowledge is a main aspect of PoE. Most information requires the player to try stuff and can't be looked up.
this game was made by people that have probably coded their own versions of third party software for the games they played or read the sphagetti code of games they played to get information and an advantage. If you want to play and enjoy games blind you have to pick an alternative. This game was designed around using forums and guides and such and is now basicly designed around you copying your favorite asian toyboy or autistic idiot savant that figured it all out already.

if you consider browsing someones elses work on wiki or youtube is "discovering" things, then screw that nonsense lol.

The "rewarding monsters" example is perfect here. Game doesnt explain you anything, because GGG cant communicate for sh, so instead you need to read what people datamined to have a clue what that is.

Well that certainly explains the Steam charts' constant dive-bombing, huh? Once the big streamers figure out a league, you don't care anymore. Rinse & repeat.

Sure seems like an empty way to "play" a game...

... Can I explain why your association of aiming in a shooter proves my point that looking up 3rd party information has become too expected???

Sure, lol.

Okay, so... in a shooter, you literally have to aim before you shoot - unless, of course, you're okay with just shooting the wall in front of you for the whole match.

In an ARPG - or, really, any game - the information should be provided to you within the game. CSGO doesn't have you look up on Google how to cycle through your equipment. It doesn't have you look up on YT where the bomb sites are. And even before you say it, you don't NEED to look up competitive nade spots, either. You can NATURALLY come across those, as they are merely a strategy, rather than a core game mechanic.

But in PoE??? Hell, I've asked a few questions just this month, that not even the playerbase knew the answers to. The information is not only unknown from WITHIN the game's (lack of) explanation, but it's EVEN been completely neglected by all of the parties in this game that research things extensively to make these 3rd party information sources. This could be resolved if the game itself did its job and explained things.

But to get back to literally spelling out the answer to your question...

Aiming is to shooting in an FPS, as clicking is to moving around in an ARPG. Not minimizing the game application itself in order to load up a different application to type type type some words and hopefully get an answer before maximizing back into the game application. Lmfao... Why do I have to explain this??? Is this a Twilight Zone episode???

Comparing [aiming] to [using 3rd party sources for research before engaging in any encounter] proves my point because it's not normal for this to be the case, and yet, it's basically as expected as [breathing oxygen] to you.
