Cast on Death not working with spells other than portal

So I am pretty dumbfounded after testing this support out. I have not tried every single spell in the game, but only very few seem to work. Portal, Shock Nova and Frost Nova seem to work. All the others I have tried, do not. I have asked friends and made a reddit post to see if others are having the same issue, which they are.

Since neither the Wiki nor the patch notes or any reddit or forum post mentions any recent changes as far as I can tell, I assume this is unintended behaviour.
