Operative Strongboxes and Discernment Nerf

I'm assuming that the Discernment nerf had something to do with the addition of Operative strongboxes this league. While it's been nice to have more consistent profit from them, the lack of Diviners and Arcanist boxes really hurts the jackpot potential of strongboxes. This makes them much less fun. In most Containment maps, you'll only get one or two Arcanist/Diviner boxes.

The fun part about strongbox strategies has always been fishing for duped Locks, Mirrors, and high-value div cards. Sure, it's nice to make a couple divines in scarabs per map, but without that high-value jackpot potential it's pretty lame.

In case GGG is on the fence about keeping the Operative boxes, I plead with you to remove them, or make them less common, and return the Discernment scarab to its former glory.

Given their track record thus far, highly doubt GGG will revert any sort of nerfs.
Pointless to give triple-A game companies any sort of constructive criticism without getting put on probation (or banned). GGG's downfall is drawing near.
Where is the double mirror potential from harvest or essences or expedition?

You pick one of the strongest mechanics and complain as if it is a given that everything in the endgame should evolve around strongboxes and GGG made a mistake.

Operators boxes are so strong, boxes shoudl be nerfed to the ground in the following leagues so that noone ever touches them for at least a year or two.

Enjoy the box meta or don't but this is certainly the last mechanic where they have to fix anything regarding the lottery rewards.

I don't know where you're reading that no other strat could use any adjustment... I haven't said anything of the sort.

Essences have great consistent return - even better if you score with lots of corrupted essences. Expedition I'm less familiar with, but I assume could probably use some work. But not all strategies need both consistent returns and jackpot potential. One or the other is usually how it's done, and that's fine.

Oh come on, they were good, but "everything in the endgame should revolve around strongboxes"? Hardly. While they were good in prior leagues, most endgame players were doing Titanic, Wildwood fishing Alva, Blight, etc. Strongboxes weren't that good before this patch. Yes they had more jackpot potential, but they did not have consistent returns, and you had to open a LOT of boxes to get there.

What I'm talking about is a balance between consistent returns and jackpot potential - strongboxes used to have less consistent returns and more jackpot potential, and this league they have very consistent returns (from Operatives) and less jackpot potential. All I've said is that I prefer it goes back to the way it used to be after the league ends. I have not claimed that they should be so good that it's not worth doing anything else or anything of the sort.

Finally, there's something I have said, and you're agreeing with me. I'd prefer that they don't go core.

It really sounds like you have a lot of beef with strongboxes... but everything you're trying to argue with me about I haven't even said. So if you think there are that large of issues, maybe you should make a thread about it?
