At least in the current balance of poe there is no reason for the mod to exist, all it does is annoy people and increase the length of time it takes to clear maps.

If you want people to spend more time in maps either make monsters actually difficult and not cosmetically difficult, or add in more league mechanics like mirage for shit to do.
