Has GGG stated how 'Early Access Standard' will work upon 1.0 release?

I think it was in the first 0.1 patch announcement livestream that GGG had first talked about current Standard being temporary, and that it will be renamed to 'Early Access League' once 1.0 releases, with a new actual permanent 'Standard' getting added then.
What I'm interested in once 1.0 hits that I couldn't find answers for in the official FAQ (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3587981): 1. Will we still be able to create new characters in EA League? 2. Will we still be able to play our already existing characters, or will it basically be a void league (= character names still visible, but not accessable)? 3. Will any balance patch or new core additions that impact regular Standard also affect EA League? Or will it be a "legacy" league, frozen in time patch-wise? Last bumped on Mar 31, 2026, 2:06:35 AM

The exceedingly likely answer here is that EA league will be merged with Standard league on launch or first league past launch.
I see no reason why you wouldn't get to keep your characters, but I sincerely doubt they'll keep EA league and Standard league separate with EA being frozen in time. |

im pretty sure they said that EA standard will be seperate from 1.0 standard.
they said players that have characters in EA standard will still be able to access their characters, and are not sure about allowing said players to create more characters in EA standard, but i think they said they'll think about it just for these players. im pretty sure i didnt hear anything different about EA standard getting leagues when they go core, but i can imagine this wouldnt be an issue. this is all based on interviews ive watched in the passed.
