Should normal POE2 be available during the race?

I attempted to play POE2 during the race today. All I get is a black screen, with the status "running" in Steam.

The Windows Task Manager does not show a POE process.

Have you attempted to have Steam verify the game's files?

Works now.

The sequence of logging out, restarting Steam, and verifying POE2 files got me back on line.

Steam had some issues shutting down when I logged off, so the problem may have been with them?
