What if currency (outside of this league) was more common?

I am not suggesting this because I foolishly think this will make everyone 'richer!' I am aware of inflation and how supply/demand adjust pricing.
This is intended to be a polite conversation, and I would love to hear your thoughts, even if you disagree. SCENARIO. Everything remains the same as "non-temple leagues" normal. but al currency, of all types drops 'X' times as often. You can make up any number for 'X' (I am thinking of ~10, not 100.) IMPACT All players find more raw currency, all trade prices increase as a result, in the end as this washes through, items take more or less the same amount of playtime to be affordable, if it took 2 maps to earn the currency to buy an item, it will still take 2 maps to do so, as X times more currency pays for an item that is X times more expensive Players will have larger inventories of currency, that can be used for crafting, this allows: People with less currency can afford to be more experiment with crafting, even using Divines on a unique that previously wouldn't have been worth the investment Top-tier craters can make their items and sell them with less time investment (to earn the currency), but the same currency investment in the crafting process As a result, more items can be crafted to a higher quality, and most importantly, this also improves SSF experience without changing the concept of the games being otherwise fundamentally the same. Crafting being easier might reduce the cost and increase the number of mirror-worthy items in the economy, (but honestly, this really is a 1% problem) but also making it easier to buy better gear at all levels. PLAYER RETENTION: The argument will be made that too much currency will reduce player engagement and retention. To this I say: this league has a massive unintended currency boost, and yet player retention numbers are virtually identical: https://poe2db.tw/us/League#ConcurrentPlayers Most players would appreciate crafting being more available. SSF would feel less locked out by RNG, while retaining the harder play that SSF imposes ( it still will be easier to gear in trade league) Last bumped on Mar 27, 2026, 12:11:33 AM
