"friction" to actually playing the game is too much?

OK here is my problem and maybe I'm not doing it right so some advice can be appreciated.
I love POE 2 combat, campaign, characters, weapons, skills general vibes etc. I don't mind the whole crafting economy and "hideout warriors" who just play the market etc. but it is not for me. I like blasting, killing bosses - farming while listening to nice music or podcast or whatever. My problem though is even after all these changes I feel like I need to roll, find and setup at least 3 tablets with specific prefix-suffix, roll proper maps for each run, then I need to setup main atlas tree, then specific activity tree ... in addition to all the gear and skills. Then comes the loot where you setup a filter (decent time and decision making) and even with that you fill your bags so you go to town and have to deal with all the tabs, setup affinities for each etc. etc. Only then I can get to the part I enjoy which is killing monsters, blasting bosses etc. Now if you don't do all of the above the games turns into a kind of very inefficient operation and annoys me in another way. Can the endgame be a bit more straight forward ... or at least a bit less stuff "to do" before you can actually play? Anyone feels that way or am I doing it all wrong ? " Sorry to tell you, but if you think this way, this game is not for you. If you want dumbed down, I-just-want-to-play-whatever-the-game-decides-is-best-for-me games, there are plenty out there. |

Vandeta, I know people/streamers pose this game as a RACE. Where every League you need to RACE to the end so you can...
Well, don't fall for the RAT RACE You played a whole Campaign and got a lot of enjoyment out of it. That's awesome. Endgame is basically just "more." It's for people who want "more" and if you REALLY want to keep playing more and more you WILL take the time to make those last refinements. Refine your Item Filter. Refine your Atlas Passive Tree(s). Refine your Mapping strategy. Refine your Passive Tree. Refine your Equipment. Etc. Etc. OR DON'T. YOU DON'T HAVE TO. You don't have to do any of those things to play the game. You can just alch n go if that's more your speed.
Spoiler
But a little warning, that the Endgame can become a bit of a meta-game if you really wanna get into it. (Problem/puzzle-solving)
Just take it all a little bit at a time. Do a bit of refining or studying and then once you've done a bit of work, JUST PLAY. If the game is feeling too much like work and you're not having fun PLAYING then maybe it's time to TAKE A BREAK. After playing a few Leagues you'll probably start finding your stride, but no need to push things if you're not enjoying the journey. Also, don't ruin the game for yourself by overstudying and sticking to what you studied. Try to discover as much of the game as you can for yourself. Maybe check out this video
