In-game peer-to-peer sale authentification

First off, I want to say I'm a huge fan of your game POE2. I have over 1300 hours in and I'm loving it. My acct: Perpetual_Warlock#7087. However, I recently had an experience that, in my view, reveals a huge miss in design and is one that is all but demoralized me from continuing with the game.

I recently was so lucky as to drop an Adorned diamond in the Chaos Trials, which at the time of this season (The Last of the Druids) was trading for ~9450 Divine orbs on the market (unidentified). I was in a party with my brother, and we were ecstatic. This was the biggest success we had ever seen in the game. Literally the pinnacle of our experience. Finally, all our efforts had paid off and we would be able to finance any crazy build ideas we could come up with for the rest of the season. I listed the diamond on the market (through Ange) for 9450 Divine as we joked about all the possibilities. The jewel sold surprisingly fast, within a couple of minutes. While I streamed my screen as I went to collect our currency, my elation quickly turned to dispair, then to anger. I had listed the jewel for 9450 Exalted orbs, not Divine. In my excitement I had not clicked the dropdown to select Divine as my desired currency. In effect, I listed one of the most valuable items in the game for less than 0.5% of it's market value. So someone out there making a macro-enabled scrub of the market took advantage of what was obviously a fat-finger issue.

What's done is done, however I believe experiences like this should cause for a conversation. What is the harm in implementing an authentication mechanic to generate an "are you sure about this" prompt should the listing price vary greatly from a quick market price check? Applications already exist to price check items, so the remaining "innovation" is to interface with the item lister to double check intentions. I feel this necessary to retain integrity, and in fact is why many IRL financial institutions implement such measures. I hope this testimony results in some discussion about potential solutions.

All the best, and looking forward to next season.

Perpetual Warlock.
