non patch note changes?

how much stuff is changed between seasons that isn't in the patch notes?
things feel a lot different this season.
i'm sure i can expect no answer from ggg, as they can't even seem to to answer simple questions about game mechanics.
but, please, someone enlighten me.

what, specifically? You are asking about specifics but providing none. "things" could mean anything, "feel" could mean anything. Are you playing exactly the same build? Are you talking about the entire reworking of the endgame? Are you playing the same amount?

You need to go into MUCH greater detail for anyone to work out what you mean, or even for you yourself to work out if there are non-patch note changes.

A lot of stealth changes are definitely made, and there's just no way of knowing exactly what, why, or when.

One I can think of that is funny to me is they randomly giga-buffed cold ailments in act 1/early campaign. It used to be that I would NEVER get frozen or high-chill applied to me when running campaign, then mysteriously 1 patch mobs in act 1 started freezing me for multiple seconds at a time, and applying 20-30% chills. That made Hailrake much more annoying to fight.

There's weird stuff like the big burst of exp from random archnem rares being deleted for seemingly no reason. Like that was just purely a mechanic that made the game more fun, and exciting. I have no clue why it was a problem that certain random rare enemies were granting a little bit more gem exp, and why it had to be removed.

I'm sure other people have stuff that they have noticed and we could sit here listing them for days.

And that's just one example of my personal experience with the game. I'm sure there's lots of other little things that have changed and aren't in patch notes.
Lifelong NEET, loud and proud about it.

Actually a good specific example that the OP should take note of for his own needs, but also wrong because this particular change was explicitly written about in patch notes when they made massive changes to Act 1. Not a stealth change at all. Nice try though.

https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3147479#act1changes

"Act 1 Changes
We have rebalanced various monsters found throughout Act One to make them more dangerous. Note, the balance changes made to Act One Bosses and monsters also apply to their Endgame Map versions."

The specifics about ailments, particularly freeze, was discussed in the video reveal of 3.15 as well.

It was specifically for this reason that most competent players started slapping on Sapphire Rings in Act 1 as soon as they possibly could, using the Iron Ring vendor recipe.

I made a decision to not list specifics, because it would give people an opportunity, which they often take in these forums, to blame my build, my level of playing, or similar player-based reasons.

the question isn't difficult, is there any idea how much stuff is changed that isn't discussed in patch notes? it doesn't matter if i suck or if i'm a ripper, if i'm playing the same build or not. changes are changes.

but, thanks anyway

lol are you serious? You are presenting a completely impossible question to answer. The classic "proving a negative" scenario.

"Is there any idea how much stuff is changed that isn't discussed": the answer is everything between nothing and infinity. Literally anything and everything that exists within this world "isn't discussed" unless it is.

No one can read your mind, or have your same experience, and so they cannot respond to your question with any semblance of accuracy or validity. I could easily say "50% of all changes are not written in the patch notes"....but that answer holds zero merit, zero evidence, zero validity, and zero connection to YOUR specific feelings. I could EQUALLY say 90% of all changes, or 10% of all changes, or 1%, or 99%, or something like "For every one written change, there exists 7 unwritten changes".

You really really need to understand that. Your question is an impossible abstract concept with no answer until you provide any specifics.

Furthermore, you absolutely cannot possibly claim or expect others to understand that what you are experiencing are "non-patch note changes".....without first identifying if that is actually even true to begin with, such as the above example with Act 1 freezes.

Everything you mentioned regarding your characters matter: because they determine whether what you feel are "game changes" or simply changes you experience because your character is different. A character with less cold resistance is going to "think" cold damage is much higher than a character with more cold resistance.
You are going to "feel" like something is different if your entire play style is different because of what build you are using. This is true whether you are a good or bad player, whether your build is a good one or a bad one.

If you played mostly bow builds before, and only now have just switched to melee....the entirety of the game is going to feel like it suddenly changed.

ALL of that is why YOU need to provide the specifics of what exactly you are feeling that is changed. Not a single other player can answer these things FOR you, in order to provide evidence or counterevidence of hidden changes of any kind.

Considering that we won't know until something has changed until people start bringing up that it's changed? No, there isn't.
If you think the question isn't difficult, then you want a simple answer, and that answer can only be "no".

At best we'd know how much was discovered to be changed, but unlike the lists of patch notes associated with a patch, I'm unaware of any "List of undocumented changes".
GGG has a history of not releasing certain patch notes, and ONLY when they get found out will they admit "oh yeah, we forgot to add that to the notes". Prime example was when tinctures were first introduced back in 3.25 and GGG deleted the attack/cast speed flask suffix modifiers in a stealthy manner. Only after players (mostly Standard players at the time) began pressing GGG about it did they THEN add that particular patch note to the thread.

There are plenty of conspiracy theories out there in regards to loot and various ninja nerfs over the years, though I will say this much: loot in 3.28 OUTSIDE OF THE LEAGUE MECHANIC still feels like crap. You probably noticed all of those exalted orbs dropping lately, perhaps that's the illusion that ground loot was buffed. Meanwhile MANY of the mechanics across the board has had their loot nerfed in some manner. Perhaps this is to get Standard players to play league, because right now even Standard loot is in the gutter.
Pointless to give triple-A game companies any sort of constructive criticism without getting put on probation (or banned). GGG's downfall is drawing near.
