Flicker Strike Quality of Life – Camera Lock Suggestion
|
I’d like to suggest a quality-of-life improvement for Flicker Strike in Path of Exile.
Currently, when using Flicker Strike, the camera follows the player character as it rapidly teleports between enemies. While this makes sense mechanically, it often results in very erratic camera movement due to the extremely fast and frequent repositioning. This can feel disorienting and, in some cases, even cause motion discomfort. My suggestion is to add an optional camera behavior where, while using Flicker Strike, the camera locks onto the current target enemy instead of following the player character. This would stabilize the visual experience, making combat feel smoother and easier to track, especially when facing more tanky enemies like rares and unique bosses. This could be implemented as: A toggleable option in settings, or A behavior tied specifically to Flicker Strike (or similar teleport-based skills) I believe this would significantly improve comfort and readability without affecting gameplay balance. I don't really think that would ever be possible because then the camera COULD go completely off the player in some cases of fast moving, or teleporting enemies.
The camera in this game doesn't scroll off-screen because that would offer an unfair advantage over other camera modes or skills. Ultrawide was tweaked and removed for precisely this reason. Having the camera only center around the player offers a fair and equal experience for everyone interacting with the game.
