Eldritch Altars should pause the game with a menu.

Despite it would be annoying to everyone else (the repetitive pause), why don´t you just press ESC and pause the game yourself?
Exiles, pffff!

So your suggestion is to pull away from the idea of a pause menu that would be nicely formatted and in the center of your screen, to just go back to what we already do, which is figure out a good position for the Altar on the screen before pausing, so that, when you pause and hold Alt, the text isn't either off the side of the screen or behind the pause menu?
Okay. Well I guess this is why it took 20 years to finally add an auction house, lmao. |

Please no. I dont want the game to randomly pause on me 10 times a map.

Randomly???
Okay. Maybe I needed to be more clear, although I dunno why people wouldn't automatically assume we're doing it the GOOD way, since we're just making ideas by hand out here. It would pause and give you the menu if you click on it. Not just whenever it showed up. |

Are you taking meds?
We are addressing at things that you wrote, not at things you think that you wrote but you did not. I am saying this because the firts post of yours clearly gives the impression that you want a pause when "le wild" elderith altar appers and that you have no clue that the game can be paused by presing ESC. But yet: -1. Unnecessary. Exiles, pffff!

Bro just hit esc and read. It's not that deep.

I concur: the suggestion reads that you want the game to pause immediately once an eldritch altar spawns....NOT when you click on said altar.
And if you meant the latter....why wouldn't you just click esc if you were already going to have to try to click the altar for the pause anyway? Far safer, and it already exists. In terms of the positioning issue, its far easier to click away from the altar to move and then hit esc, than it would be to click the altar itself. If you ultimately did mean the former...how would that work with off-screen altar spawns lol. You get auto-paused but...can't do anything and then ultimately have to press esc anyway. Altars rightly require proximity to click on Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Mar 25, 2026, 9:15:32 PM

As stated... it's annoying having to try to position my character in the perfect place for me to be able to see the options without the text running either off-screen or behind the Esc pause menu.
The amount of pushback, and even insults, that I'm getting for this idea is... insane but unsurprising. This community has always been at the bottom. Keep it up, boys. This is definitely how you get more people to play! (This is why every video comes from the same 4 people, lmfao.) Don't even worry about it, fellas. Abort, abort! We don't need to add QOL to this game, we know how much you guys hate QOL. |

" When the post isn't clear, and the idea isn't fully fleshed out.....you get pushback, and a lot of it quickly. As for insulting comments.....I only count one. And yes, perhaps it was unwarranted There isn't a player alive in PoE that "hate QoL".....but QoL can easily turn into an unnecessary headache and that is what is being presented back to your not-fully-fleshed-out suggestion.
