Mapping Difficulty

I've completed the campaign 4-5 times now and I have some thoughts.

I feel the difficulty spike from Act 10 to T1 maps is too high. For the sake of argument, let's say the avg player finishes Kitava with 1500 hp, 30k tooltip dps, and max main resists. White/blue mobs aren't the problem, it's the rare or two that takes 15 secs to kill and if it happens to get close it one shots you.

So you say go to the market and redo your gear with +hp and more armor/evasion. Ok, cool, but we need Chaos orbs to do that. Have to map for those. So now we're in this cycle of possibly chain dying in the same T1-T2 maps waiting for more currency.

I don't know. I just wish they'd smooth the difficulty curve a bit.

1500 life is what should be had at act 5.

The difficulty increase is fine at the beginning of endgame.

Also tooltip dps is a horrible metric to use as its not accurate at all.

Yea, I've heard the "300 hp per act" before. But you're not going to have anywhere near that unless you're actively crafting for it or buying it off the market. I'd say most casuals focus on dps mods in the campaign because survivability typically isn't an issue.

And that right there is the issue. It's a nice ramp up curve that hits a wall.
Its not an issue at all. The game is telling you that you are building improperly when you constantly get one shot.

And you will get one shot a lot with only 1500 hp in act 10.

I go with the lab measurement - 1k health for normal, 2k for cruel and 3k for merciless. Meaning that when you finish the acts you should have at least double the health.

Wrong, check on how HC players are playing and especially the self found

Since you've said that you completed campaign like under 10 times - you're very, very new. But that's good, you have a long way to learn
There was a thing called Blood Aqueduct for such things. You run that area over and over selling gear for chaosorbrecipe or collecting some drops if that is too much to ask. At this state of the league no gearslot should cost you more than 1c to make it safely into yellow maps.
Never heard anyone complain about white maps before, so I tend to not think this is a problem.

A bit more info is needed to help you though. What builds are you playing for campaign run through, and are you following any type of build guide?

If you follow a decent league start guide, it will have progression notes to help transition into maps pretty painlessly.
