Shaper doesn't value my time

4 minibosses
- Spider takes time to drop down
- Daresso has all of his phases
- Merveil has both phases
- Dominus has his drop down & both phases

3 boss arenas

2 transition zones where I just have to walk without any reward
- Vaal City has you zig-zag back and forth and hit doorways constantly
- Southern Forest has you weaving between trees

Repeat this over and over and over again, just to enable fighting uber elder a few times.

I'd love it if this fight was modernized to 2026 to value my time.

It hasn't been updated in ages. Old content sucks because we are used to newer, better created one. The fight needs updates. Desperately. Make it harder if you want, but please also make it faster. There is a reason the only "nightmare" boss I can stomach is the Fortress one.
Making old bosses not have phases is not the solution, imo. There is a reason they got designed in the first place otherwise the game just degenerates into an insta kill simu.

YOu can value your own time if you don't play SSF and buy the fragments from other players from the currency you earned doing sth that you consider more worth your time ;)
Invulnerability phases is not the solution. Make it a tiered boss with the option of buffing it up with map modifiers. Make higher tiers directly reduce the damage you deal like pinnacle bosses. This way everyone will fight whatever version they feel comfortable and it won't be 99% waiting and 1% fighting.
There's no point in adds phase, it's not difficult or interesting, it's just running - change/shorten/remove it.

And shorten the run to 4 mini bosses
it s an endgame boss. it s nice that all boss arent just, enter arena, destroy him and go next.

That's not the point OP was making, otherwise they'd be equally bothered by Exarch and Eater with their invulnerability phases or Maven with 6 and the forced Simon Says puzzles inbetween.

What they're bothered by is how excruciating and unrewarding the Shaper's phases are compared to any other boss. He throws you into two monster gauntlets you need to rush past, he has add phases where he opens a portal and you just have to sit there and wait for him to finish having his moment, and he has bullet hell mode where you need to stand in Zana's bubble until he finishes his tantrum.

And then there's the 4 mini-bosses you kill which sometimes have phases, such as Merveil.

It's just a lot of standing around doing nothing, because the game said so.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

The others found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on juice. I am not so foolish.
I somewhat agree with the idea of the post - the Shaper fight sure needs some love. The phases aren't an issue, a lot of bosses have phases and they're fine. The issue with the Shaper fight it's that it is outdated, and still designed for a time when player power was fairly low.

Things like Atlas Bosses and waves of mobs aren't challenging anymore, they're just annoying. I'd keep the essence/feel of the fight intact, but change the inter-phases so they are shorter and less annoying. Get rid of the 4 atlas bosses at the beginning and the waves of mobs and replace them with something interesting. Everything else should stay as is. My 2 cents.

Terrible title though. "Not respecting my time" lol
