2FA Methods

Hello,
I am wondering how to enable 2fa on my account? Also, I would like to know if GGG has any plans to implement better 2FA methods like using an authenticator and even better going to a PassKey. I do believe its time to modernize. Thank you! Last bumped on Mar 20, 2026, 3:16:12 PM

The only way I can think of is studiously avoiding standalone authentication & enabling Steam Guard for your Steam account. If you've already given your Path of Exile account an email address & password, you could try emailing support@grindinggear.com and asking if they'll remove it to make Steam the only authentication method. (I do not know if this is something they do.)
GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.

From past comments on this issue, it seems GGG doesn't want to deal with the potentially increased Support needed for players who have no longer access to their 2FA - even though this is an already solved problem.
