ilvl 86 Cord Belt, how?

So I dropped an ilvl 86 Cord Belt in a normal T16 map, no scarabs. I'm not quite sure how this is possible. I specced into Blight on the Atlas but I don't see any nodes that give a chance to drop higher ilvl items. So does anyone know how this can happen? Is it farmable?

Were you in the mirage? Has to be in the mirage to drop doesn't it? Maybe something that was applying to the mirage. Are you salvaging the towers? Don't know exactly what rewards that provides.

The belt came from a blight chest in the Mirage, which is the only place it can drop afaik. I didn't have the salvage tower node.

I couldn't find anything in the wiki entry for ilvl that could explain this. Mysterious indeed...

On trade there are belts with even higher item levels, up to 92. Though I doubt they dropped like this. I guess they were made by recombining with high ilvl belts found elsewhere.

You can slot one into the Recombinator with another belt of higher level (say, level 100 from a div card), 50-50 chance the resulting belt base will be the Cord Belt, and the item level will be the average of the two items plus 2 (capped at the higher of the two levels).

So if you have, say a level 80 Cord Belt and a level 100 Leather Belt, you will have a 50% chance to get a [(100 + 80) / 2 + 2] or level 92 Cord Belt.

I did the same thing recently to get some level 87 Stormrider boots, high level random bases aren't expensive and usually neither are low level target bases. Just takes a few tries sometimes.

pretty sure ilvl86 now just drops randomly in t16's. T17's are also lvl83 monsters now

It is a Blight + Mirage thing.....not normal ilvl 86 item
