Ya'll need to do something about Eater influence.

Being tired of seeing red in every map I run, I swapped to Eater influence for some variety. It lasted two maps before I swapped back. The altars suck, the enemies are way more annoying, there is literally zero reason to run blue over red. Which is why EVERYONE runs Exarch. Literally everyone. I don't know anyone who runs Eater. Not one of my friends, not one person in guild, no one. Which is a real shame because, frankly, I prefer to aesthetic and the boss fight. OK, so there are two 'reasons' to run Eater, except you can buy the invites from suckers who are running it, and better loot + better altars simply trumps better looks. Eater altars need to be adjusted to be better, and lose those annoying cold volatiles from the mobs. They aren't even threatening unless you are braindead, they just slow you down from seeing if anything dropped worth picking up.

I run eater and i just made it to lvl 99 solo. I am suppression capped and ailment immune and i take a bath in eater mobs, lol.

There are two mods that i never click: minus to cold and lightning because my res is just not high enough and less recovery per endurance charge, because that bricks my build...Exarch would be more mods i can't pick i think.

But yeah they need to do something: Gief more divine shrines! hehe, i'd click any mod in that case xd

As we can see Eater is quite a bit more popular.

Eater has a significantly higher pick rate because it rolls higher %quantity and %currency dupe as well as better div cards. It has more jackpot potential and scales better with ground loot.

This has been the case for every single league without exceptions since the altars got introduced.

More people are still picking blue over red cus the red influence implicit currencies and exarch invite sell for more.

I just run red because the altar downsides are muuuuch easier to deal with on my build, stuff like -resist or -armor evasion do literally nothing to me when I already have 0 defenses LMAO

Meanwhile blue has annoying mods like suppression on the mobs which makes them much tankier, projectiles fired in random directions which completely bricks my totem build and so on. Red is just more consistent currency anyway, and now that the other influence's effects have a 25% chance to appear its even more comfy to run red with downsides that I don't care about.

Maybe my little corner of the community is odd, but I wasn't kidding when I said EVERYONE I know runs Exarch. And the group I know includes people that frequently are rank one in races or have been in the game since beta. Frankly, I rather suspect the prices are more a result of blue > red than anyone min maxing. Though tbf, I suspect me and mine tend to build things that are ailment immune and don't rely on RNG mechanics like evasion and suppression so much.
Red Altars are better profit for sure, but the illusion of that one big divine shrine is a powerful Mirage that deceives many Exiles like myself.

And there is the % rarity/quant. pretty good if you play sc and want the most juice in your map. Not sure how much you wanne click on these in hc though.
I have seen a div shrine ONCE in all my time mapping, and of course it was after 95% of the mobs were cleared. But the quant/currency dupes seem pretty reliable with red altars. For instance...



And I didn't even get many altars.
i don't know what circles you frequent, maybe your friends and your guild are all casual dads that play 1 hour a week, but exarch has always been popular first few days of the league, then eater massively gains popularity and more and more people start using it, cause it's better for high-end juicing.

The one thing that i want to be done about eater are the annoying mods that completely destroy your build, like less defences, crit multi per power charges, you're making your build 3 times worse for a measly 15% quant... come on, surely the people at GGG don't think it's a fair trade, cause if they do, i have about 3 bridges i'd want to sell them
Yeah, we are all casuals. Hell, I'm not even good enough to know better than to do wisps on a nightmare map with extra projectiles + mob aoe, as you can see in the screen I shared.
They are pretty balanced in terms of rewards. Red is more consistent currency, more expensive invitations and eldritch embers, while blue has better div cards and jackpot altar potential.

You usually pick whatever doesn't brick your build most of the time. If your build doesn't use charges then you can pick blue, but if it does you're likely to run into a shit mod like less CDR per power charge (bricks miners and CoC) or less defenses per frenzy charge (can strip your entire ES as CI and you're left with 1 hp only). Red altars indeed have less "bricking" modifiers. Though that -100% resistance is painful.
