Cost of Socket Color Crafts is Insane

(Edit: Disclaimer: This may be based on potentially incorrect information that reds and greens have a 20% chance to roll on any socket on an int item. I later read that its weighted by stat requirements on the item, so a very high int item might have a very low chance to roll a red or a green at all. These sorts of mechanics should be transparent so that players can calculate risk to make the best decision for their build. If it is weighted by stat requirement, it would be good to know exactly when that 100 orb craft is the better deal, because at least early on it is not.)

100 orbs to guarantee RGGB on an int item is not worth it, ever. Its insurance against a rare edge case where the number of orbs extends way into the tail of the geometric distribution. You only need 39 orbs to have a 90% chance of getting RGGB at least once on a 4 socket item.

You would virtually never have to spend 100 orbs. 100 brings you up to a 99.7% chance of getting the combo at least once, but 39 gives a 90% chance. You are spending 61 more orbs for an unneeded guarantee (that still isn't certain because you might roll R or G instead of B). The geometric distribution already guarantees that in all probability you will see the combo way before 39 orbs, and you will practically never need anywhere near 100 orbs.

Those crafts are over priced. A more statistically fair price for that combo would be 50 orbs.

25 is probably fair to guarantee two of the same color socket, and one red and one green on an INT item for 15 orbs is a steal, because the probability is the same as two red or two green. but 100 for three non-blue on an int is absurd.

They have to be overpriced, otherwise why roll at all? If You try your luck you should be rewarded on average, if you are lazy and risk averse you pay some extra but you avoid bad rng.
I almost always use the bench craft because it's less clicks/ not holding down your index finger to long, but that's just me.
I really hope you aren’t using g chromatics for off colors…..

For corrupted item off-colors that are really high cost, use tainted chromes
