Disciple of the Slaughter

I have Disciple of Slaughter on this amulet and I'm not getting the "8% chance to gain a Frenzy charge ON KILL" as suggested by the notable passive. I'm using the Shock Nova ability with the Hierophant class.

Are you using Shock Nova, or are your totems using Shock Nova to kill enemies?
