Is there a way to reset Eagon?

(Looks like there is an option to run an unmodded cursed version of the map to progress if this happens. Is that correct?)

What happens if I corrupt his map and it hits something I can't run? Is there a way to skip it or clear it so a new one can spawn?

Open the corrupted map, then speak to eagon again
