Holy Strike help.

Would post in skill gem section but holy strike not up as yet.
I'm a dumbass so need help deciding what support gems i need to use for this skill. Will attempt to list all. Minion damage - Multistrike - Ele damage with attacks - Phys to lightning - Melee splash - Added lightning - Melee physical damage - Behead - Ruthless - Ele penetration - Probably others. Am assuming there is optimal for single target v mapping. TIA Last bumped on Mar 13, 2026, 11:47:10 AM

Check the build section possibly, or POEninja. It was a pretty popular skill being talked about at launch especially with it being available at start. There may not be a reliable guide as it was somewhat unknow how it scales, but there should be a fair bit of information about what players have been using successfully.
(Had a look on build section, didn't see anything relevant, there looks to be some videos made online, not sure how good they are, some looked to be farming views to me, but there might be a good one. Haven't found a solid guide as yet. Builds on ninja Mirrage SC trade, seem to be using mostly what you have listed on the first line, filled with what you have listed on the second line, but somewhat less, and some other options, such as fortify, and critstrikes. Not much added lightning dammage though, I think the skill relies more on scaling phys, than say smite would. From the new gems, looks like Exemplar is the main one being used. The player that has made it to 100 in SC is also using Annihilation support, which looks like it is potentially useful for clearing. Doesn't look like it is being played by much streamers, though Quin is using it somewhat successfully in HCSSF, lvl 97, and another guy Oscrix is at lvl 100 in HC trade, using volatility and empower. Could be that it's a pretty solid skill for HC. Might be able to get some more information from their communities. Might be more about Gaurdian being strong for HC than the skill itself.) Thanks for that, appreciated. Checked ninja and am finding it hard to nail down 5 support skills. Using Resolute technique so can rule out crit gems so that is a start i suppose. May try using Exemplar. Thanks again.
Edit : Exemplar is a crit support so wont be using that. Using Fortify on tree so can rule that out as well. Last edited by EDMOSES#3434 on Mar 12, 2026, 10:35:33 PM

Yeah, does look like there is a fair spread of what is being used. Probably because it is new and unknown. Which ascendancy are you taking next? If are going to have unwavering crusade or not, that might influence some of the choices, with the flat ele.
Sounds like for you, probably what you've got currently is fine. Maybe there is something better than added lightning if you have unwavering crusade, but it is probably solid if you are taking something else. I think some of the builds might be trying the new lightning ascendancy and in that case maybe lightning penetration/ phs to lighting could be helpful. Looks like there may be a few variants popping up with that, and also separation, which may be focused on melee Vs minion scaling. I think the skill is in POB, so you might be able to test it there, not sure if everything is accurate regarding it in POB yet though. Having a red gem to flex might be good for some of the strike clear supports. Looks like you might be pathing on the tree towards some nodes that will help with that. You probably know best if that is needed from playing the skill. I saw it has a pretty big animation, but I guess that actually doesn't hit anything because it is not AOE? Kind of a strange animation for the skill to have isn't it? Or does that big visual actually have some relevance to the skill where it hits? I've also been playing guardian, but not melee. Seems quite strong with the rework, I'm sure there are a lot of options available if you find the skill has some difficulties. (Edit, posted some other information in the wrong thread, just ignore if that came up.) Last edited by Belegur85#5784 on Mar 13, 2026, 11:48:52 AM
