Failed to load Itemfilter
|
Every time I try to load an ItemFilter, I get the error message shown in the attached screenshot.
I have already uninstalled Path of Exile and reinstalled it, but the same error occurs every time. Is there any way to fix this? ![]() Last bumped on Mar 11, 2026, 10:37:39 PM

After searching for a while, I found it: E:\My Games\Path of Exile Every time I try to use an item filter, a new folder is created with an unpronounceable name. ![]() Last edited by fluxly_nyx#3350 on Mar 10, 2026, 9:21:43 PM

Is there anyone else with the same problem, a solution, or anything else that could help me? PoE without a loot filter is kind of scary.
I've already tried the OneDrive solution, but without success :/ |

I don't think that's the correct directory.
You shouldn't need to manually look for anything. Like the page I linked you to says, copy & paste this into File Explorer's address bar: %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile It will immediately open the correct folder for you. GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.

" The last time I played PoE, I still had OneDrive installed and the Documents folder was on a different hard drive. This link https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3364115/page/2 describes a similar problem, so I wanted to check the file path and found that the Documents folder wasn't stored at all. I recreated it and saved it as c:\Users\(user name)\Documents. However, that didn't help. Even uninstalling PoE again, deleting all folders, and then completely reinstalling it always leads to the same problem. It doesn't matter whether I use Steam or the PoE launcher. Manually moving the folder also did not yield any positive results. Thank you very much for your help and sorry for my English :) |

I was able to solve the problem :)
I can't say exactly which of my last steps ultimately led to success, but the file path C:\Users\-User-\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile\OnlineFilters is now recognized and the filters are loading. What I did: 1. As already mentioned, I corrected the path of the “Documents” and “Personal” folders in the registry, following this thread -> https://de.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3609880 2. Then I uninstalled PoE 1 (Steam and GGG Launcher) and deleted ALL!!! folders related to PoE 1. 3. Then I removed all filters that I had stored in my Poe1 profile. 4. Restarted the PC 5. Reinstalled PoE 1 via Steam 6. Started PoE 1 and checked the file path for "production_Config.ini" 7. The file is located in C:\Users\-User-\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile 8. I closed PoE 1 and added item filters to my PoE profile 9. I started PoE 1 -> checked the file path for the item filters in the game -> everything was perfect 10. I selected and loaded the appropriate filters |
