Question about Atlas catch-up mechanics in Standard

Hello,

I am playing in Standard league and after the recent Atlas reset I lost my Atlas progression.

While searching for information I found this line in the patch notes:

"Reworked the system for catching up Atlas progress on Standard. Now, if your account has previously acquired any Voidstones, completing any node on the Atlas will complete every node of the same tier and lower."

Because of this change I am not sure if the old method of restoring Atlas progression in Standard (by running high-tier legacy maps, for example Tier 16 maps) is still supposed to work.

I have tried running multiple Tier 16 maps from my stash (both corrupted and non-corrupted), but none of them restored any Atlas completion.

My account has never obtained any Voidstones in the past, so I am unsure whether the catch-up system still works in this case or if the mechanics have changed.

Could you please clarify whether the old Atlas progression catch-up method using legacy maps still works in Standard for accounts that never obtained any Voidstones?

Thank you for your help.

I've got a feeling the old system may not work anymore. I tried running a legacy map in one of the leagues the other day and it didn't update either. Going by what you have done, sounds like if may of been superseded by the new system. Not certain though.

Sounds like they have replaced a terrible system with something no better. If like you are asking, its an option, that might be a slight improvement, but if they are requiring players to have completed a void stone to retain their atlas progress, sound not good. Terrible for ruthless.

Which patch notes is that from out of interest? Was it Keepers league?

I can't explain how they are able to make a game so incredible good, but also can't figure out a suitable solution for this. Or have a boss health bar that doesn't overlap their buff icons. Have to take bad with the overwhelmingly good I guess.

Maybe you both wanna read the discussion in this thread.

There is also a thread in Feedback, too.

As far as i understand it, take a legacy map, open your atlas and select an undiscovered map (which are made visible by small blue circles) to put in your legacy map and activate it.
relax - it's just ones and zeros!

Thanks for the replies. I’ve read the two threads that were linked, but they don’t really resolve my situation. I would like to know one thing: if I didn’t have any Voidstones before, is it still possible for me to restore my previous Atlas progression?
Well, it worked for me, with the information of those linked threads in mind.
It worked because i had 1 Voidstone socketed since 3.25.

(And i don't see a real connection to the number of voidstones you have had obtained before.)
This is not correct, see this post below!

So I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. My Atlas currently looks like in the screenshot below. I click on an undiscovered map (the small blue circle), load a legacy T16 rare corrupted map there, and after completing it the game only counts that one map I selected on the Atlas.

I'm scratching my head. Seems correct to me what you describe.

Just to make this sure: The Map you are using is a legacy rare and corrupted one (from any previous league remove-only stash tab), like:
.
Or do you craft a white legacy map (which won't work, because while crafted the map item is converted to a map item of the current league)?

It would seem that if you had no Voidstones, then the catch up mechanic will not work. You MUST have had a Voidstone previously for it to work.

My main account (this one) and an alt account both had Voidstones, so in both cases the catch up worked. My alt with no Voidstone previously did NOT work.

I do not and will not use TFT.

Exactly. I’m not corrupting old maps, I’m just using ones that are already corrupted.

It looks like it, kind of sucks.I guess I’ll just have to struggle with it a bit. Thanks for the help.
