Some ideas for improving the Kingsmarch experience

I really like Kingsmarch. I like the mechanic, I like sending ships, I like having mappers do stuff for me, i like building my town and getting better workers, it's fun. I do however miss the town progression since it was removed. It was fun and if you never engaged with it until maps you'd do it super quick, wouldn't be a hassle at all to do it later.

So I was thinking, since so much of the playerbase feels so much FOMO from having to constantly keep up with gold, deal with the maintenance of sending ships and running maps, and really kind of "being forced" to engage with it even when they don't want to, wouldn't it be best to remove gold from Kingsmarch, and make it so you have to engage with the actual mechanic in maps via natural ore spawns or scarabs to keep up your town? That way players who like Kingsmarch like me can actually juice it properly (which isn't really the case right now, juicing Kingsmarch feels very unrewarding compared to just keeping up with the gold and doing nothing else), and players who don't like Kingsmarch won't really feel any kind of FOMO since it's no longer a "free" mechanic, and they can ignore it just like people who don't like delve ignore delve. And it'd need to be balanced such that it needs to be actively engaged in, not something where you farm like 10 maps with settlers scarabs and now you can leave Kingsmarch running for the next 5 hours, that would still create FOMO and feel like a chore. Maybe instead of the crops just producing you shippable material constantly for free, maybe crops would just be used to hire new workers in the tavern, or upgrade buildings, and only ores and metals would be shippable. and as for a crop sink for after you're done upgrading everything, being able to convert it to dust doesn't sound too bad.

Also, maybe a rebalancing of how shipping works could help, such that sending less at a time would be more efficient than sending one huge ship every 2 weeks or something, which really isn't engaging or interesting to anyone, it's just a checklist thing, but if I need to send 3 ships every few hours or twice a day or something like that then it's a lot more engaging and I get more frequent dopamine hits from interesting loot windows.

And as for having it make sense in-universe, could just add a Kingsmarch specific currency that only shows up in town similar to sanctum aureus that you can trade metals for. Sell metals - get some kind of new special gold coins, and those gold coins will be used to pay all the workers.

I feel like changes like these would remove the FOMO aspect from the mechanic and make it so people who actually like it will be able to enjoy it even more, with better juicing options that no longer break the market because it's not a free mechanic that everyone does, it has opportunity cost now just like delve or sanctum or anything else. I really hate the current top suggestions for Kingsmarch i.e. removing it or nerfing it or this or that, it's not thought out, surface level, and ruins the mechanic for those of us who genuinely enjoy it.

Thanks for your time!
