any way to turn off other users' character effects?

Hello,
I'm wondering if there is any option to turn off other users' character effects.
Especially at Rogue Harbor - I got frozen and disconnected almost every time. Reluctantly I rushed to open a contract and move on; not enough time to search for my own contracts. Similar to ACT bases too.
I appreciate graphics and I'm not saying I don't like. Instead, I'd appreciate an UI option to turn those on / off.
