How to Attack in Place with Shield Charge on Controller Input (Steam Deck)?

Title.

With KB+M if you keep the mouse pointer close enough you'll bash instead of yeeting yourself across the screen. How do I replicate this behavior on controller? Standing still doesn't work. Increasing the deadzone to the size of a school bus doesn't work. Alternate skill behavior doesn't work with either of the above. I just want to be able to bash on demand with native controller support.

Strangely enough, sometimes I'm able to get it to work temporarily. Testing it in my hideout, I'll rarely be in a state where charging will just issue the bash command. No terrain issue/pathing issues. Even if I stop, then try to shield charge again, I'll still be bashing in that spot. If I move even a step, then try shield charge, it's back to yeeting around.

I would also like an option to attack in place with my controller for shield bash. Is there any solution that have been found so far thanks.

OOOO and lets us use our keyboards and mouse + the controller at the same time. This would be a HUGE QOL seriously. my brother think the same
